Get ready for the next big thing in queer horror! From indie cinema duo Spooky Madison and Dusty Austen, What’s Wrong Wendy is here to deliver a bloody, funny, and incredibly messy slice of queer horror. This film blends small-town nostalgia with the dread that your crush might be more interested in your jugular than your heart.
Meet Wendy Day, a perpetually stoned pizza delivery girl who’s a lovable mess. She’s the kind of person who’s always late but still the life of the party. Enter Victoria Sinclair, who has just returned to her hometown of Sequoia Lake to take care of her sick mother. But a late-night collision changes everything. A chance run-in rekindles old high school crushes, leading to a one-night stand.
But Victoria quickly realizes that Wendy isn’t the same girl she once knew. She’s faster. Hungrier. Sharper. And she’s not asking for permission before she takes a bite. This is the kind of movie that will leave you laughing one minute and jumping out of your seat the next.
The bloody, practical effects-driven film features Andrew Ferchland (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), indie horror icon Leah Voysey (Terrifier 2), and rising star Alexandra Boulas.
What’s Wrong With Wendy was filmed in Columbus, Ohio, and at the fictional Sequoia Lake. It was co-produced by StreetRat Studios & FinalGhoul Films.
The film will hit the festival circuit in 2026, with a theatrical and VOD release to be announced soon. Keep your eyes peeled and your necks covered!
