Good news, Supe-fans! If you’ve been impatiently waiting for the next chaotic, blood-soaked chapter of Amazon’s hit superhero satire, “The Boys,” you’re not alone. But we’ve got good snews. The series’ creator, Eric Kripke, just dropped a seriously encouraging update on the fifth and final season!

Since the last batch of episodes landed in July 2024, fans have been starved for more. But according to Kripke’s new Instagram post, the finale is getting closer to the finish line. In fact, it’s deep in post-production right now!

Kripke shared a selfie with his VFX team. He also gave fans a breakdown of where they stand on the monumental final season:

“We’re hard at work finishing @theboystv Final Season,” Kripke wrote. “Editing is all done, we’re roughly halfway finished with VFX, Music, Color.”

He added: “I’m really happy with how it’s going and can’t wait for you to see. We go out with a bang. COMING (reasonably) SOON.”

This is fantastic news! Finishing the editing means the story is locked, and they’re just polishing up the massive visual effects and score before it’s ready for prime time.

The end of filming brought some emotional goodbyes from the creative team and cast. Back in July, Kripke took a sentimental moment to say farewell to one of the most iconic locations in the show: The Seven’s conference room at Vought Tower.

“This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude,” he shared. “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. We got all of them.”

Antony Starr, who gave us one of TV’s most chilling and complicated villains as Homelander, also shared his emotions:

“This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience,” Starr wrote.

He even addressed Kripke directly, saying, “We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you… This creative chapter is closed, and I’ll miss it, brother.”

After four explosive seasons packed with shocking twists, biting political satire, and grotesque superhero antics, “The Boys” is gearing up for one last, epic ride. And while “The Boys” may be signing off soon, the spinoff series “Gen V is just heating up, so you can still get your Supe fix! And that’s not all. Word is, a prequel series is also in the works.
