A familiar piece of childhood dread is back. Bagman, the supernatural thriller directed by Colm McCarthy (The Girl with All the Gifts, Outcast), is out now from Lionsgate.

First announced in 2024, the film centers on the terrifying return of a malevolent creature drawn from folklore. For centuries and across various cultures, parents have used the horrifying legend of the Bagman to frighten their children. The mythical monster is said to snatch kids and stuff them into a vile, rotting bag, ensuring they are never seen again.

In the film, the family of Patrick McKee (Sam Claflin) finds itself trapped in a nightmare. As a boy, Patrick narrowly escaped the Bagman, leaving him with deep psychological and physical scars. However, the tormentor from his childhood has now returned. And it poses a fatal threat to his wife, Karina (Antonia Thomas), and their son, Jake (Caréll Rhoden). So now Patrick must confront his fears to save his family from the malevolent entity.

John Hulme wrote Bagman and boasts a substantial ensemble of talent. It features Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games), Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor), and Caréll Rhoden.

The production team includes Marty Bowen, John Fischer, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner as producers, ensuring a high-quality cinematic presentation for this chilling supernatural story.

Watch Bagman now on Prime Video, Paramount+, or Starz.
