Forget the champagne and the countdown—this year, New Year’s Eve is all about the body count. From the twisted minds at Blood Moon Pictures comes New Fears Eve, a blood-splattered horror comedy that proves the “office holiday party” can be way worse than just a boring meeting.
The Plot: A Party to Die For
The story follows three best friends who are—let’s be honest—dragging their feet about attending the mandatory annual New Year’s bash for Hooper. A ruthless killer has crashed the party. He has decided that these three friends are at the appetizers. And it quickly turns into a fight for survival.
A Dream Team
This flick is a literal “Who’s Who” of the horror world. It’s written, produced, and directed by P.J. Starks, alongside Eric Huskisson, with a powerhouse production team that includes Jeffrey Reddick (creator of Final Destination) and the legendary Felissa Rose.
The cast includes Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), Hannah Fierman (V/H/S), and Jeffrey Reddick, making a rare on-screen appearance. The film introduces Jesse McDonald as the terrifying new slasher, “The Doctor.”
The film was shot entirely in Owensboro, Kentucky, and features some seriously gnarly practical effects by Stephen J. Hodke and the Taintbad Productions crew.
Already a Winner
Before even hitting your living room, New Fears Eve has been cleaning up on the festival circuit. It took home Best Horror Comedy at both the Chicago and NYC Horror Film Festivals. It also dominated the 2024 Wolf Media Festival, winning everything from Best Cinematography to the prestigious L.Y.C.A.N. Award. Fans are loving it, too—it nabbed the Audience Choice award at HorrorHound.
Where to Watch
You don’t have to wait for the ball to drop to catch this one. New Fears Eve is available right now on Screambox and Amazon Prime Video.
It’s the perfect watch for anyone who thinks their boss is a nightmare—at least your office party probably won’t involve a masked killer… probably.
Keep the holiday theme going with Blood Moon Pictures’ Christmas-themed horror anthology film 13 Slays Till Christmas, which is currently available on Prime Video, Arrow Video, Crunchyroll, and streaming for free on Tubi.
