Uncork’d Entertainment has officially announced the release of the horror movie Capture, the latest supernatural thriller from writer/director Bruce Wemple (The North Witch). The film blends the “haunted object” subgenre with visceral possession and paranormal suspense. If you’re a fan of lo-fi horror and family secrets that should have stayed buried, this one is aiming directly for you.

The Plot: A Lens Into the Grave

The story follows Abby (Kaitlyn Lunardi), who returns to her long-abandoned childhood home after inheriting it from her parents. While clearing out decades of clutter, she discovers a thirty-year-old camcorder hidden among a stack of old videotapes.

As Abby begins reviewing the footage, she uncovers horrifying secrets about her family’s past. But the real terror isn’t just on the tapes—it’s the camera itself. Abby soon learns a lethal truth: anyone recorded by this supernatural device doesn’t just relive the past; they die. What started as a trip down memory lane quickly devolves into a desperate struggle for survival against a power that refuses to remain out of frame.

The Team Behind the Dread

Bruce Wemple has carved out a massive reputation in the indie horror scene (working on hits like The Retreat, Monstrous, and Dawn of the Beast). Known for prioritizing practical effects and building sustained dread over cheap jump scares, Wemple’s return to Uncork’d Entertainment is highly anticipated.

The indie cast includes Kaitlyn Lunardi (The North Witch), Cedric Gegel (The Haunted Forest), and Chris Cimperman (First Contact).

A Word From the Studio

Keith Leopard, President of Uncork’d Entertainment, isn’t holding back the praise:

“Bruce Wemple has become one of the most reliable voices in modern indie horror, and Capture is one of his most unsettling films to date.”

Release Details

You won’t have to wait long to see what’s caught on tape. The movie Capture will be unleashed on all major Digital and On-demand services on March 17, 2026. So, grab some snacks, turn down the lights, and get ready to be on the edge of your seat.
