Pack your bags and completely ignore any real estate listings in Long Island, because indie horror’s most prolific duo is back. Genre veterans Shawn C. Phillips and Will Collazo Jr. are officially expanding their notoriously wild, low-budget cinematic universe with their latest delightfully unhinged entry, Amityville Shark House.
Haunted House Meets Jaws
We’ve seen the Amityville house haunt people with clocks, lamps, and even a clock radio, but this time, the infamous property is going full nautical.
The plot kicks off when a guy named Richard is doing some casual home renovations and discovers an ominous shark idol hidden beneath the decaying floorboards of the Amityville house. Instead of putting it on eBay like a normal person, Richard accidentally awakens an ancient, savage force.
Naturally, the entity begins to possess him, transforming a quiet coastal town into a blood-soaked nightmare. As Richard’s body count grows, a local cult begins to realize their dark god has been reborn. It’s a race against time to stop the carnage before everyone gets eaten by… a real estate property? A possessed guy? A land shark? Honestly, we can’t wait to find out.
The Warnings (The Fun Stuff)
Lionsgate and Dark Star have nothing on this ratings board warning. The film has earned a hard Rated R for: strong bloody violent content & intense gore, pervasive language, and sexual content & graphic nudity. In other words, it is a proper, unapologetic midnight movie.
The Cast & Crew
Co-directed by the dynamic B-movie duo of Will Collazo Jr. and Shawn C. Phillips, the film stars a lineup of seasoned indie horror royalty who know exactly what kind of movie they are making. Shawn C. Phillips (Desert Fiends), Juie Anne Prescott (Amityville Harvest), Tasha Tacosa (Impact Event), and Maritza Brikisak (The Lurking Man) star.
If you love your horror movies with zero budget, massive buckets of fake blood, and premises that defy all laws of God and man, Amityville Shark House (or whatever glorious title it lands on) is your ultimate summer watch. Dive in on June 30 on digital and demand!
