Ryan Murphy is back with a new horror series, “Grotesquerie.” The series, set to haunt audiences this September, stars Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville and an appearance by football player Travis Kelce. The neon-lit trailer, featuring a lot of religious imagery, has just arrived.
The 10-episode FX series reveals heinous crimes that have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon feels these crimes are eerily personal as if someone—or something—is taunting her. In her personal life, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care, and her own inner demons.
As the detective delves deeper into the serial killer’s case, she forms an unlikely alliance with Sister Megan, a nun and journalist with a unique perspective on humanity’s darkness. Together, they navigate a sinister world filled with unsettling secrets and shocking revelations.
With its star-studded cast, gripping premise, and Ryan Murphy’s signature style, “Grotesquerie” promises to be a chilling and thought-provoking exploration of the human psyche and brutality.
“Grotesquerie” was created and written by Ryan Murphy. Murphy, Max Winkler, Elegance Bratton, and Alexis Woodall scripted the episodes. 20th Century Television produces.
“Grotesquerie” will debut on FX on September 25th and arrive one day later on HULU.
