A horde of indie horror films is heating up the film festival circuit. One that has caught our attention is the new indie slasher Meathook from writer-director Jeremy Ashley. The film’s new trailer has just been unleashed. It teases a horror film filled with mental health commentary and blood, lots of blood.
This brutal film is set two years after the horrific massacre of a group of friends by an infamous killer. The lone survivor, Jordyn, grapples with her past, her scars, agoraphobia, and a severe case of PTSD. When a string of similar murders begins, Jordyn must face her fears head-on with the help of a true-crime podcaster who wants to tell her story.
Rene Leech leads the cast that also stars Havon Baraka, David Alan Graf, and Patrick Sanderson. Buddy Clements, Tristyn Lau, Grant Morningstar, and Todd Hewitt round out the cast.
