If you thought the Alaskan wilderness was just about northern lights and expensive cruises, think again. Well Go USA Entertainment is bringing a much hairier threat to your living room. The Yeti, a blood-splattered horror-thriller that trades digital shortcuts for visceral carnage, is set to debut on Blu-ray and DVD next week.
The Mission: Search, Rescue, and Regret
When a high-profile oil tycoon and a world-renowned adventurer vanish into the frozen northern reaches of Alaska, a hand-picked rescue team is sent in to bring them home.
The good news? They find what they’re looking for. The bad news? They also find the local landlord—a towering, prehistoric beast that doesn’t take kindly to trespassers. What starts as a daring rescue mission quickly devolves into a desperate, pulse-pounding struggle against the elements and a predator that’s been top of the food chain for millennia.
The “Golden Age” Aesthetic
In an era of green screens and pixels, co-writers and directors William Pisciotta (an Emmy® Award winner) and Gene Gallerano are taking it back to the “Golden Age” of monster movies.
“We created THE YETI as an elevated creature feature, harkening back to the time when horror relied on practical effects, suspense, and well-rounded characters,” says the duo.
By blending 1950s Cinemascope sentiment with a gritty filmmaking style, the film prioritizes gruesome practical effects and atmospheric dread over CGI spectacle. If you miss the days when a creature felt like it actually occupied physical space, this is the beast you’ve been waiting for.
A Heavy-Hitting Ensemble
The survival squad features a stacked cast of genre veterans and rising stars. That includes William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption) and Corbin Bernsen (Psych). Brittany Allen (Dexter: Original Sin), Jim Cummings (Halloween Kills), and Eric Nelsen (A Walk Among the Stones) round out the team, along with Christina Bennett Lind (House of Cards).
The Yeti stomps onto Blu-ray and DVD on May 19, 2026. Get ready for towering beast, sub-zero carnage, and a love letter to practical monster makeup.
