Visualizing Unseen Evidence
Developed in full collaboration with key participants in the case, “Unmasking a Monster“ pairs advanced VFX technology with dramatic performances. Also, it brings documented testimony to the screen for the first time. It is grounded strictly in verified court transcripts, police reports, and official interviews. Viewers will also see documented evidence from Lieutenant Mike Joyner, who went undercover to secure her arrest.
Also, the series explores Wuornos’s complex life through intimate interviews with a lifelong friend and her former defense attorney. It provides a rare look at her traumatic childhood, her high-profile trial, and her final days on Death Row.
