Forget blurred photos and quiet forest sightings. Legendary cryptid Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch) is stepping into the spotlight for an unrelenting, high-body-count revenge rampage in Wildman.
Get this: the horror-action film is pitched as “John Wick with a Sasquatch.” Written by screenwriter Jacob Rainer, the script was officially snapped up by Badlands, the genre banner by Scott Strauss.THR revealed.
A Primal Quest for Blood
The Wildman logline gets straight to the point. When a hunting party slaughters Bigfoot’s younger brother in the woods, the grieving monster embarks on a single-minded crusade to retrieve the body, violently butchering every single person involved along the way.
Carson Reeves, who spotlighted Rainer’s script during a horror writing contest, is attached as an executive producer.
Direct Lineage to the House of Wick
The project could not have landed with a better production house. Badlands serves as the dedicated genre imprint of Thunder Road, the studio behind the John Wick franchise. This gives the film an actual pedigree. Brace yourself: Wildman aims to deliver action, gore, and a killer in an eight-foot coat of fur ready to rip people apart.
Badlands has been busy. It’s also preparing to release its debut horror feature, the arachnophobia-inducing spider film Crawlers, this fall.
