The narrative kicks off when a horrific crime shakes a small Mississippi town. One girl is found murdered, and her twin has vanished without a trace. A criminologist and a psychologist are dispatched to unravel the case. However, they soon find themselves drowning in conflicting evidence and local paranoia.
