Dive headfirst into a world of pure terror (or become the terror yourself!). The spine-chilling BLUMHOUSE HORRORVERSE is now open for gaming in Meta Horizon on Meta Quest! This isn’t just some horror movie. It’s like stepping inside one. It immerses fans in the frightening worlds and iconic Universal Pictures and Blumhouse villains. We’re talking M3GAN, The Purge, Wolf Man, The Black Phone, and many more!
An Immersive Experience
This immersive horror-themed social experience is brought to life by the Emmy Award-winning Brazilian studio ARVORE and Monks. It’s packed with activities and scares you can experience solo or with other brave (or soon-to-be terrified) souls. And the best part? It also gives you the chance to become someone else’s worst nightmare.
When you first step into the Horrorverse, you’ll find yourself in a chilling forest – the perfect spot to meet up with other horror enthusiasts and experience your favorite Blumhouse stories like never before. This world is designed for rich social interactions, offering many ways to connect, play, share, and scare.
“I’m thrilled to bring Blumhouse HORRORVERSE to life in Meta Horizon,” said Sarah Malkin, Director of Reality Labs Entertainment Content at Meta. “This immersive experience lets horror fans interact with iconic Blumhouse movies and monsters. What excites me most is giving audiences more of what they love, and a platform to share their passion with others who feel the same way.”
The Blumhouse
At the heart of the forest stands the Blumhouse Horrorverse’s most chilling attraction: The Blumhouse itself. This eerie edifice is a labyrinth of twisting rooms, haunting activities, and terrifying secrets. But enter at your own peril, because you risk being caught in Survival Lockdown once inside. This pulse-pounding game will force you to find a way to survive and escape the house… or, if fate (and a random draw) smiles upon you, it’ll give you the chance to strike fear into the other Horizon players unlucky enough to have been caught inside with you!
Survival Lockdown is a true test of wits and terror, pitting players against each other. Up to seven players will be assigned the role of survivor. They are tasked with working together to search the house for keycards that can lift the lockdown and grant them freedom. But one randomly chosen player gets to embrace their dark side, taking on the role of the Villain! Embody Blumhouse’s most frightening characters – like Lady Liberty from “The Purge,” M3GAN, or the ever-smiling Babyface from “Happy Death Day.” As the Villain, your only job is to relentlessly hunt down the survivors, eliminating them before they escape the Blumhouse.
Once the lockdown is lifted, you can venture outside the Blumhouse for more creepy exploration and participate in unsettling activities. You can hone your skills for Purge Night at The Purge practice range, score points in the Black Phone Balloon Hunt, and unleash your inner beast in Wolf Man’s Greenhouse Battle. It’s all the fun of Blumhouse without the actual dismemberment!
“Blumhouse has always looked for new ways to bring fans closer to the stories they love. HORRORVERSE is our most immersive experience yet—something that lets people step inside our worlds, connect with other horror fans, and even become the villain. With Meta, we’re not just pushing boundaries—we’re building a space where you don’t just experience horror—you exist inside it,” said Karen Barragan, Blumhouse Chief Marketing Officer.
