Get ready, “Sandman” fans! The wait is almost over. Netflix’s “The Sandman” is officially returning for its second and final season, with new episodes premiering on July 3! We’ve been eagerly awaiting more of Neil Gaiman’s beloved comic adaptation. We now have the release schedule and a thrilling new trailer that promises an epic conclusion. Here’s everything you need to know.

Diving Deeper into the Dreaming

The first season, which premiered in 2022. It beautifully brought to life the first two volumes of the seminal comics: Preludes and Nocturnes and The Doll’s House. A bonus animated episode (A Dream of a Thousand Cats/Calliope) followed shortly after on August 19, 2022, further enchanting viewers.

Now, showrunner Allan Heinberg faces the ambitious task of adapting a vast amount of content into eleven final episodes! We know that “The Sandman” Season 2 will include fan favorites like “Season of Mists” and “Brief Lives.” However, that’s not all – the season will also incorporate several captivating one-shot issues from the comic, including “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Thermidor,” and “The Song of Orpheus.” Prepare for a truly expansive journey through Dream’s realm.

Familiar Faces and Exciting New Arrivals

 

You can count on the return of your favorite characters and the talented actors who bring them to life. Expect to see Tom Sturridge as Dream, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, and Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, among others, in Season 2.

However, while specific character details are still under wraps, the new season will introduce several key figures from the comics, expanding the already rich tapestry of Dream’s world. Confirmed new cast members include: Adrian Lester as Remiel, Andi Osho as Thessaly, Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium, and Barry Sloane as Destiny. They are joined by Indya Moore as Wanda, Charlotte Ritchie as Eleanor, Dionne Brown as Hazel, Wil Coban as Barnaby, and Paul Kaye as The Fates.

 

Release Schedule: Mark Your Calendars!

 

This season will be released in two batches, with a special bonus episode to complete the journey:

  • Volume 1 arrives on July 3, 2025.
  • Volume 2 is scheduled for release on July 24, 2025.
  • And for an extra treat, a bonus episode titled “The High Cost of Living,” which focuses on Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), will drop just one week later on July 31, 2025.
