Diving Deep into Derry’s Dark Past
King’s iconic 1986 novel documents catastrophic events from the Maine town’s horrifying past. The series kicks off in 1962, leading right up to the terrifying events of It: Chapter One.
Andy Muschietti, who directed both IT films and is helming multiple episodes of this series, has even teased that if HBO orders them, second and third seasons would take place in 1935 and 1908, respectively.

The series boasts an impressive cast ready to bring Derry’s dark history to life. Taylor Paige (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), Jovan Adepo (The Stand), Chris Chalk (Gotham), James Remar (Dexter), Madeleine Stowe (Revenge), and Stephen Rider (Daredevil) will star. And, in news that will thrill fans, Bill Skarsgård is returning as the one and only Pennywise the Clown!
The cast is rounded out by Alixandra Fuchs (Boogeyman Pop), Kimberly Guerrero (Reservation Dogs), Dorian Grey (Star Trek: Discovery), Thomas Mitchell (Spiral: From the Book of Saw), and BJ Harrison (Rise of the Planet of the Apes).
