“Hannibal“ creator Bryan Fuller has a new dream project in mind, and it involves Zendaya stepping into a truly iconic role.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Fuller shared that he would love to create a limited series of “The Silence of the Lambs” starring Zendaya as Clarice Starling alongside Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter.
“My dream project is to do a limited series of Silence of the Lambs with Mads and Zendaya as Clarice Starling,” he said. “If I could put anything out into the universe, I would put that into the universe.”
The roles of Clarice and Hannibal were first brought to the screen by Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins in Jonathan Demme’s 1991 film, which won big at the 1992 Oscars, including Best Picture and awards for both leading actors.
Zendaya is already gearing up for a packed 2026, with upcoming projects that include a new season of “Euphoria,” the third Dune film, a new Christopher Nolan feature, as well as the fourth Spider-Man movie.
The 1991 original, The Silence of the Lambs, stars Jodi Foster as a young F.B.I. cadet seeking the help of an incarcerated and manipulative cannibal killer (Anthony Hopkins) to help catch another serial killer, a madman who skins his victims.
Fuller’s frequent collaborator, Mad Mikkelson, played the role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Fuller’s absolutely incredible series “Hannibal.” Fuller, who recently made his directorial debut with the thriller Dust Bunny, also starring Mikkelson, at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, is clearly ready to bring his vision for this chilling classic to life. And we are totally here for it.
