The soon-to-be-released film In Our Blood dives into the darkest secrets of family history. Bleecker Street is bringing the psychological horror film to theaters nationwide this October.

This film marks the narrative feature debut of Oscar-nominated documentarian Pedro Kos (Rebel Hearts), and it looks like he’s bringing all the tension of real-life investigation to the world of genre cinema.

The movie follows up-and-coming filmmaker Emily Wyland (Brittany O’Grady), who teams up with cinematographer Danny (E. J. Bonilla) to shoot an intimate documentary. The subject? Her long-awaited reunion with her estranged mother after decades of silence.

However, the emotional reunion turns into a terrifying investigation when her mother suddenly vanishes. Did she succumb to the addictions that initially tore the family apart? Or is something more sinister at play? Emily and Danny must quickly piece together increasingly chilling clues to find her before it’s too late.

In Our Blood promises a twisted tale about “reconciling with the ghosts of our past” and confronting the painful reality of a world that preys on the most vulnerable.

Kos directs from a script penned by Mallory Westfall. The talented cast features Brittany O’Grady (Star), E. J. Bonilla (Gemini Man), Alanna Ubach (Euphoria), and Krisha Fairchild (Penelope).

With a pedigree that blends documentary realism with psychological suspense, In Our Blood is shaping up to be a must-see event for horror fans this Halloween season! In fact, HorrorFuel’s Joseph Perry said in his review that it offers “realistic drama and plenty of suspense.”
