The story is as bleak as it is captivating. You get a warning if you’re not keeping up. Rack up too many warnings? You’re out—and in this game, “out” means death. The winner’s wish will be granted. However, it comes at the horrifying cost of the other 99 boys’ lives.
Francis Lawrence directed the adaptation, and he knows a thing or two about intense dystopias thanks to his successful work on The Hunger Games franchise. JT Mollner wrote the screenplay.
Cooper Hoffman stars alongside David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, and Roman Griffin Davis. The cast also includes Judy Greer and acting legend Mark Hamill.
