Getting older is scary enough, but James DeMonaco—the mastermind who created The Purge—is about to make it a whole lot worse. If you missed it during its digital run, here’s some excellent news: The Home is officially making its streaming debut on Starz this week!
Co-written with Adam Cantor, this film takes the everyday setting of an assisted living facility and turns it into a claustrophobic house of horrors.
Community Service from Hell
Pete Davidson stars as Max, a rebellious twenty-something who gets sentenced to a stint of community service at a quiet retirement home. At first, it seems like a cakewalk—just some chores and small talk. But the vibe shifts fast when Max notices the “Fourth Floor.”
The staff claims the residents up there need “special care” and are strictly off-limits. Naturally, Max can’t mind his own business. As he digs into the facility’s secrets, he realizes the retirement home isn’t just weird—it’s sinister. His simple community service suddenly becomes a high-stakes fight for survival, with both he and the residents in the crosshairs.
The Cast & Crew
Davidson is joined by veteran actors John Glover (“Smallville”) and Bruce Altman (“Mr. Robot”). James DeMonaco brings that same “social commentary mixed with scares” energy that made The Purge such a hit.
