The boundary between our world and the next is about to get terrifyingly thin. Archangel, the highly anticipated feature directorial debut from acclaimed screenwriter and comic book veteran Bryan Hill, is officially taking flight at the European Film Market in Berlin.
This supernatural horror film marks the latest collaboration between genre powerhouses Spooky Pictures and Image Nation. The same creative engine has been consistently delivering high-quality thrills to the global market, Variety reports.
The Mission: Researching the Afterlife
Archangel, currently in post-production, combines an ancient, malevolent entity, science, and the divine. The story follows a privately funded organization dedicated to cracking the code of life after death. However, an ancient, malevolent entity is determined to prevent humanity from uncovering the truth about the supernatural realm.
A Multi-Media Universe
In an exciting move for fans of expansive storytelling, Archangel is the first Spooky Pictures-Image Nation project based on a graphic novel series. Director Bryan Hill will also develop the graphic novel.
The goal is to build out a massive “Archangel” universe. It will offer fans a deeper dive into the lore and the entity’s origins alongside the cinematic experience.
The Creative Powerhouse
The film boasts a cast of genre veterans and a production team with an unrivaled track record in horror. Conor Leslie (Titans), Greg Hovanessian (Cardinal), and Alyshia Ochse (“True Detective”) star, with supporting turns from Azure Parsons and Trevor Riley.
Horror royalty Roy Lee (It) and Steven Schneider (Insidious) are producing. Derek Dauchy (Late Night with the Devil), Julius Pryor, and Bryan Hill are also producers, so you know it will be good.
So, when will it arrive? Archangel is expected to be released in late 2026 and will make its debut at EFM.
