Winterfell might be a memory, but the “Stark” reunion we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Sophie Turner and Kit Harington have officially teamed up again for the high-stakes Gothic horror film The Dreadful, and the wait is over: it’s Available Now on Digital! Forget the Iron Throne; this time, the duo is trading political schemes for ancient curses and medieval nightmares.

The Plot: Demons in Plain Sight

Set against the bleak, unforgiving landscape of medieval England, the film follows Anne (Sophie Turner) and her mother-in-law, Morwen (Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden). The two live a grueling, solitary existence on the edges of society, struggling to survive the elements and to scrape enough food from the near-barren land. In this world, the line between myth and reality is razor-thin, and “demons walk the earth in the shape of men.”

Everything shifts when a mysterious figure from Anne’s past (Kit Harington) returns from the war. His arrival isn’t a relief—it’s a catalyst. He brings with him a sinister curse that manifests as a terrifying, spectral knight. Suddenly, the fight for survival isn’t just about the cold—it’s a battle against a supernatural force hellbent on destruction, and desperation.

Why It’s a Must-Watch

Seeing Sansa and Jon Snow back together is the ultimate hook, but their chemistry takes a much darker, more intimate turn in this horror setting. With Marcia Gay Harden (The Mist) providing high-intensity drama and Laurence O’Fuarain (The Witcher: Blood Origin) adding to the gritty atmosphere, the acting is top-tier.

Director Natasha Kermani is a master of atmospheric dread. She crafts a world that feels both grounded in history and completely unhinged by the supernatural. Be sure to watch our interview with the talented filmmaker.
