The found footage subgenre is a favorite of many horror fans due the way it pulls viewers into the action. Now, Doron and Yoav Paz are taking things a step further with their upcoming sequel to their 2015 film JeruZalem, which has already been green-lighted by financier and distributor Epic Pictures Group.
Deadline reports that writer/directors Doron and Yoav Paz will be incorporating “…an extensive virtual reality component in which viewers can immerse themselves in the film.”
The team at Epic Pictures helped us realize our dream of scaring the shit out of people all over the world!” The Paz brothers stated. “We’re thrilled to partner with them again for JeruZalem 2 – this time with a virtual reality element that opens up a whole new world of creative opportunities for us as filmmakers.
Last month Google and IMAX announced last month that a new VR camera was being developed. Epic also met with possible new Virtual Reality partners at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo).
There have been no details announced about casting, plot or filming locations, but as soon as we know more we will let you know.
JeruZalem follows Rachel (Yael Grobglas) and Sarah (Danielle Jadelyn), two American women who board a plane and meet a charming young archaeologist named Kevin (Yon Tumarkin). He persuades the young women to travel with him to Jerusalem. Once they arrive at the hostel Rachel strikes up a romance with Omar (Tom Graziani) while Sarah and Kevin grow closer. Things suddenly take a turn for the worst when Kevin begins to think that something is happening, and he’s right, the biblical apocalypse has begun. Suddenly demons begin to flood the city, infecting people they come in contact with. Rachel, Sarah, Kevin and Omar, along with the rest of the city are now fighting to find away out.
