With the summer nearing its end, people’s thoughts are beginning to drift towards the best holiday of all, Halloween. Well, actually Halloween has been a big topic lately, the reason, there is a petition going around to change the way we celebrate the holiday.

The petition, created by the “Halloween & Costume Association” wants to have Halloween celebration changed from the 31st to the last Saturday of October every year. The group/blog sites safety as one of the reasons. As of Friday afternoon, the petition was only 83,155 signatures away from its goal of 150,000. When the petition reaches its goal it will be sent to the White House.

Did I really need to say this, this is ridiculous. Every community has the right to designate a time for a public celebration. We do not need a law to tell us when we can celebrate. It’s Halloween, people, HALLOWEEN! No petition or decree could ever change that Halloween is on October 31st, period.
