Daniel XIII; the result of an arcane ritual involving a King Diamond album, a box of Count Chocula, and a copy of Swank magazine, is a screenwriter, director, producer, actor, artist, and reviewer of fright flicks…Who hates ya baby?

Miriam (The Love Witch‘s Dani Lennon) is having a shit-ass go of things lately; she’s stuck in some sort of bizarre game she can’t escape controlled by the super-villain costume attired Gamemaster (Deadpool’s main squeeze Morena Baccarin), a being tasked with making the “game” satisfying to it’s violence-lovin’ audience!

To that end, Miriam is taken back in time to a meeting with her evil father (genre legend Ray Wise); a disgraced politician who’s children revealed his wrongdoings costing him a job as the Vice Prez of the U.S. of A.! So what does he do? Why traps his offspring in a never-ending existence of traps and torture populated by his henchman (as one naturally would).

Of course nothing is stable in the new existence our heroine finds herself trapped in, and the rules can change on a moments notice, leading Miriam down a path of twists and turns as she battles for survival!

The main point of interest concerning To Your Last Death is the fact that this freaky feature is brought to life in vivid, highly stylized, arcane animation! Yes boils n’ ghouls, this is a creepy cartoon filled with crazed characters, over-the-top scenarios, and instances of some of that hoary ol’ chestnut, extreme ultra-violence sure to please the blood tooth of gore hounds everywhere!

Along with that putrid positive, we also get some great story turns that lead to an incredible third act, complimented by solid voice acting throughout (and with the talent mentioned above this should come as no surprise to you cats n’ creeps)… speaking of which…

This flick is first and foremost a Twilight Zone affair (albeit more viciously violent than that show would ever dream of being), and to that end the filmmakers brought in the legend, William Shatner, to be our Serling surrogate and he voices the role to pitch-perfect perfection!

To Your Last Death is a one of a kind fright flick experience, and would definitely come highly recommended for fans of adult animated flicks such as Heavy Metal and Rock n’ Rule!
