Production Begins On Season 2 Of ‘Stan Against Evil’

IFC’s supernatural series Stan Against Evil premiered last November and was an instant hit among genre fans, including us here at Horror Fuel. In fact, it made it onto our Top 10 Horror Shows Of 2016 list. Back in December we were happy to report that IFC had renewed the series for its second season. Now, news has come that production has officially begun in Atlanta, Ga for the new season and we can’t wait to see what happens next. The first season follows Stanley Miller (John C. McGinley), a sour, aging bulldog of a New England police sheriff who has recently lost his position as head honcho due to an angry outburst at a most inappropriate moment — his wife’s funeral. Impatient and judgmental, he’s not exactly accepting or kind towards people from different walks of life. When the new, strong-willed sheriff Evie Barret (Janet Varney) opens his eyes to the plague of angry demons haunting their small New

Aliens Have Taken Over Earth In The First Trailer For Neill Blomkamp Short Film Series

It seems that we will never see Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5. The good news is, the director announced back in April that he and his Banner, Oats Studios, would be releasing a series of experimental short films via Stream. Now, the trailer for Volume 1 is here and it is fantastic. In the trailer we see our world taken over by aliens and humanity fighting for survival. The new reality is adapt or die. If you watch closely, you will even get a quick glimpse of Sigourney Weaver, that’s right, Ripley herself. There is no word as to when the shorts will premiere, but you are not going to want to miss them, especially if you’re a fan of Blomkamp, Weaver, the Alien franchise, and sci-fi.

An Interview With Marko Mäkilaakso Director Of The Upcoming Film ‘It Came From The Desert’

I had the pleasure of interviewing Marko Mäkilaakso, the director and co-writer of the upcoming giant bug movie It Came From the Desert. Co-written by Trent Haaga, the film stars Mark Arnold, Claudia Trujillo, Vanessa Grasse, Harry Smith, and James Alper. Mäkilaakso also directed the 2011 zombie movie War of the Dead and Deadly Descent: The Abominable Snowman. Currently, he has two other films in development, Viking: Rise of the Warrior and Blowback. Horror Fuel: “What inspired you to adapt It Came From the Dessert from the 1989 game?” Mäkilaakso: “I actually wanted to make a motocross-action-comedy set in a desert with big spiders and 80’s vibe. That’s how it all started! The idea was inspired by “Eight legged freaks” and Cinemaware’s classic ”It came from the desert” game. I presented this concept to the producers in Berlin Film Festival few years ago adding that I wanted to call the movie ”It Came From The Desert”, because I loved the

The Trailer For ‘NS404: Provenance’ Arrives

Independent genre films are a god-send these days with horror being over-saturated with reboots and remakes. Thanks to affordable equipment a film can be made for as little as $10,000 like writer-cinematographer-producer Rob Coggin’s upcoming film NS404: Provenance. Directed by Lexi Balestrieri (Die Die Delta Pi), the film stars Tracy Roese, David E. McMahon, Zoe Adkins, Natalie Ise, Bob Glazier, Lisa Marie Kart, Carson Overfield, Lisa Walton, and Coggin. In the film, a mysterious chain of events, cubed-shaped objects and a group of silent wanderers begin to converge with devastating consequences that impact humanity on a global scale. These mysteries have roots in ancient history and may have influenced certain key events over the last several hundred years. As humankind speeds towards the inevitable, it is up to one person, a physics professor, to decipher and decode the true meaning of what is beginning to take place and save those he loves before it is too late. According to IMDb,

Supernatural Fans Mourn Two Characters, But One Will Return

One thing has been a near constant when it comes to the hit series Supernatural, just because a main character dies does not mean they won’t be back. If you are avoiding spoilers I warn you to stop reading now. Unfortunately, in this season’s finale of Supernatural two main character’s deaths left us all shocked. Many believed the series would keep up with its tradition of bringing back characters, but it appears that’s not the case this time. In the finale Crowley, the king of Hell, played by Mark Sheppard, sacrificed his own life to seal Lucifer in another dimension. The snarky but loved character is gone forever at least according to Sheppard himself. On May 24th Jim Michaels, Supernatural’s co-executive producer, tweeted out a message that left fans thinking Crowley might be back one day. However, Sheppard quickly responded to the tweet, putting an end to the illusion he might return. Why, because he doesn’t want the show’s fans

Go Behind The Scenes Of The Zombie Series ‘Wyrmwood: Chronicles Of The Dead’

Let us take you on a journey into the Australian Outback in a new batch of behind-the-scene photos from the upcoming series Wyrmwood: Chronicles of the Dead, directed by Kiah Roache-Turner. In a recent interview with Bianca Bradey, star of both the film and the series, we learned that it will be a seven part supernatural series with a “Walking Dead meets True Detective” vibe. It’s a seven part series. It’s going to be very hard hitting. They are going for sort of The Walking Dead meet True detective style. It’s going to be gritty and edgy. It’s got a lot of supernatural twists to it. They are turning the zombie genre on its head again. The concept is completely original. They are really mixing the genres. It’s going to be zombie-sci-fi.” According to Bradey, the series, set in a apocalyptic world where power comes from blood, picks up “several months down the track. They are fighting the good fight

‘Family Guy’ Took A Stab At Making A Horror Film

Shows like The Simpsons, American Dad, and Family Guy have all aired great horror themed episodes and parodies of our favorite genre films and series. In season 14, episode 4 of Family Guy, titled ‘Peternormal Activity’, Peter and the gang took a stab at writing a horror movie. Not only did they come with a few ideas that played out like short films, they even payed homage to that famous scene in the first episode of The Walking Dead when Rick woke up to find the hospital was filled with zombies. While trying to find the right atmosphere for writing the film they decide an abandoned Asylum would be the perfect place. The problem is, it is said to be haunted by a killer with a hook hand. Of course, things go sideways and the guys are left in a tough situation. Don’t worry if you missed the episode, you can find the entire series on Hulu. Here’s a clip
