‘Escape From New York’ is one of John Carpenter’s best creations. Now, the reboot is underway and plot details have been revealed. Carpenter will serve as an executive producer for the remake, penned by Neal Cross. Colonel Robert “Snake” Plissken will have 11 hours (originally it was 22) to save the president. No one could replace Sir Issac Hayes as the Duke of New York, so the character won’t be part of the reboot. Instead, we will see a new character named Thomas Newton, a “playboy heir to an agrochemical and biotech corporation”.
