Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse – A Review

There has been a lot of buzz about Christopher Landon’s zombie-comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, now I know why. Last night when I sat down to watch Scouts Guide, I was hoping it would live up to the hype. The film follows three Scouts, who happen to be best friends. Two of the friends, Ben (Tye Sheridan) and Carter (Logan Miller), are starting to worry how people look at them. They’ll be juniors (in high school) next year and like most kids at that age, they worry girls won’t think they’re cool. While trying decide how to tell Augie (Joey Morgan) (the third friend) they want to quit Scouts, they hit a deer. Ben and Carter are changing the tire when Carter’s sister Kendall (Halston Sage) and her boyfriend and friend pull up. Ben has had a crush on Kendall since he was little, but she’s pretty and popular, and she has a boyfriend, who’s a douche. Carter

Why Will Smith Is Missing In Action From The Independence Day: Resurgence Trailer

Last night the trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence landed, and it’s fantastic. There’s only one problem, it’s lacking Will Smith. Smith played the role of Captain Steve Hiller, the badass fly-boy who, along with Jeff Goldblum, saved the world in the first film. But why is Smith missing from the sequel? We can answer that. Director Roland Emmerich told Collider in an interview back in June that Smith was “just tired of sequels” and was not interested in doing another science-fiction movie after his 2013 film After Earth. It starred Smith and his son, and it crashed and burned. So, you may be wondering how they explain Smith’s absence. We can answer that too. In the sequel we will learn that Smith was killed in a training accident. According to Fox he was killed when alien technology malfunctioned in 2007. Let’s be honest, Resurgence looks great, but it won’t be the same without Smith’s wit.

An Interview With Young Filmmaker Kansas Bowling

When most people are 17, they’re main concerns are friends and who’s doing what on the weekend, but at 17 one young woman, named Kansas Bowling, had something a little different on her mind, directing her first feature film. Bowling is the co-writer, director and producer of B.C. Butcher, the world’s first prehistoric slasher film, which is now under the Troma banner. I had the opportunity to interview Bowling and this is what she had to say: KM “Can you tell us a little about you film B.C. Butcher?” KB “B.C. Butcher is the world’s first prehistoric slasher! Shot on 16mm, the film features cavewomen girl-gangs, live rock ‘n’ roll, and cameo appearances by Rodney Bingenheimer, Kadeem Hardison, and Kato Kaelin!” KM “How old were you when you wrote the film?” KB “I was 15-years-old when my friend Kenzie and I wrote it, 17-years-old when I directed it, and now I am 19-years-old promoting it’s release through Troma Entertainment!” KM

A Review Of The Short Horror Film Seiren

Kat Threlkeld, who won best director at Mostra Amazona Cinema Festival in Brazil this year for her short film, Seiren, is already getting a lot of attention. In fact, the mermaid-horror was also featured at this year’s Blood in the Snow Festival. It’s great to see another talented female director in the horror genre, we have so few in comparison with the number of male directors. I’ve been following Seiren for a while now. I was very excited to finally be able to see it last night and it did not disappoint. It began with a model on the beach, during a photo shoot. Soon she moves into the water for her next pose. Suddenly she screams, she’s bitten by something, what it was, she did not see. After returning home she falls ill and strange behavior over takes her. I won’t say any more about the plot, I would not want to spoil it for you. We see few

The King Has Spoken – Stephen King On The Choice To Cast Idris Elba As The Gunslinger

There have been a lot comments on the decision to cast Idris Elba as “The Gunslinger” in Nikolaj Arcel’s upcoming adaption of The Dark Tower. I’ve heard both positive and negative remarks. Some have an issues with the choice because the actor and the character (in the book) are different races. It’s true, Roland (The Gunslinger) is Caucasian in the books, but should that dictate who is cast in the film? Stephen King spoke out via Twitter on the decision. King created the character, so I think his verdict should be important and of course, King makes a great point. Elba is a talented actor. Personally I believe he’ll do a great job. Elba has appeared in a large array of films and genres, always leaving me impressed by his performances. Not only did he star in Prometheus, he also had roles in Pacific Rim, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Unborn, and many other films and
