Image Entertainment has acquired the rights to ‘Uncaged’, the indie film from first time director Daniel Robbins. The werewolf film, which was shot in New York, stars Gene Jones, who stared in ‘The Sacrament’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’. The film follows a young man (Ben Getz) who, after waking up several times in the woods with no memory of how he got there, straps on a camera to get answers. After watching the tape from the night, he realizes that he’s a killer and a werewolf. ‘Uncaged’ will be out later this year.

Last week we reported that James Wan will be producing the full length feature version of the short film ‘Lights Out’. Wan also produced ‘Insidious’, ‘The Conjuring’ and several of the ‘Saw’ films and the upcoming horror film ‘Demonic’. ‘Warm Bodies’ actress Teresa Palmer has signed on for the film and will star along side young actor Gabriel Bateman (Stalker). David F. Sandberg will direct the movie. Eric A. Hesisser will be writing the script based on Sandberg’s 2013 short film. Hesisser’s writing credits includes ‘The Thing’ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’. In ‘Lights Out’ we will witness a supernatural entity, that can only be seen in the dark, tormenting a family. One family member must step up to protect them from the dark entity. The ‘Lights Out’ short film is creepy to say the least. I’m a big fan of James’ Wan work, so I know ‘Lights Out’ is guaranteed to be a great film. Check out the

Last night the new series ‘Scream’ premiered on MTV. The story line was something we have seen so many times before, a teenager is singled out and their life made a living hell. The cool kids extend an invitation for a party and then, blah, blah, blah, you know the story. I kept waiting for the moment when the series to show some sort of resemblance to ‘Scream’ the movie. The only thing the two have in common is the name and the killer wore a mask. The dialogue and the story line were both shallow. I found it difficult to get interested in the episode. My verdict? The ‘Scream’ series is about as entertaining as watching paint dry. Would I recommend it? No.

A couple with three young children thought they had purchased their $1.3M dream home in Westfield, New Jersey, but what should have been a happy time in their lives, has turned into a real nightmare. The family has been driven out by some psycho who is sending terrifying letters to the family, someone who refers to themselves as “The Watcher”. It may sound like the plot of a horror movie, but for this family, it’s very real. The letters they have received includes statements like “I was put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming.” and “I asked the [previous owners] to bring me young blood … once I know their names, I will call to them and draw them to me.” The letters have continued to become more disturbing with statements like “I am pleased to know your names now and the name of the young blood you have brought to me,” it continues “Who has

A few days ago I stumbled across a tweet from the account for a movie ‘The Catalyst’. I was curious, and upon further investigation, I found a website address. On the website, which is still under construction, I found a place where people can submit their true ghost stories by a post or video. I couldn’t resist, I submitted my tale (yes I believe in ghosts), then I continued on, to the part of the site dedicated to the movies, Alan Fine intends to make into a franchise. The movie has an interesting plot. In ‘The Catalyst’ a couple, challenged with fertility problems, finally have the daughter they longed for, but as a child the daughter is killed in a freak accident. After several years the couple is blessed with another daughter. When the girl turns the same age at which they lost the first daughter, strange paranormal activity begins to plague the family. The smallest accident, the drop of
