‘Underworld : Next Generation’, the fifth film in the ‘Underworld’ franchise, has begun filming in Prague. Kate Beckinsale’s vampire character, Selene, will be returning for the film along with other stars from the previous films. Beckinsale will star along side ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Tobias Menzies, who will be playing the Lycan leader, Marius. Selene’s daughter Eve, played by India Eisley, will have a bigger role in ‘Underworld 5’. Laura Pulver (Sherlock) will be joining the cast along with Daisy Head (Fallen), Peter Andersson (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), Bradley James (iZombie) and Clementine Nicholson.
The sequel focuses on a younger generation of vampires and lycans coming into their own. ‘5’ will open the door to not only more sequels, but a TV spin-off as well. ‘Underworld 5’ was penned by Cory Goodman, who also wrote the script for ‘The Last Witch Hunter’. Anna Foerster is directing the film, which is set out be released on October 21, 2016.
