Netflix Casts ‘Mad Men’ Actress In Lead Role For Dark ‘Sabrina’ Series

Back in December, we reported that a new Netflix series adaption of the comic ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ was on its way. Today we can report that lead role of Sabrina has been cast. Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) will play Sabrina Spellman in the dark, upcoming series that is already greenlit for two seasons. Shipka’s character has been described as: “An empowered young woman, half-human, half-witch, Sabrina is just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. Intelligent, compassionate and brave to the point of recklessness, Sabrina is all that stands between us and the forces of darkness that threaten our world.” The series is from the team behind ‘Riverdale’, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. Television. Aquirre-Sacasa penned the script for the pilot which Lee Toland Krieger directed. Unlike the ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ that aired from ’96 to 2003, this series will be

Special 200th Anniversary Edition Of ‘Frankenstein’ Novel

It is no secret that my favorite monster is the one built by Dr. Frankenstein. A few days ago, this icon turned 200 years old! Mary Shelly dreamed him into life and his story has seen many forms and incarnations, but none as good or profound or heart-wrenching as the original black and white print in the book. To celebrate his bicentennial birthday, Frankenstein gets re-released in a special 200th Anniversary Edition. “The 256-page hardcover book features an 8-page vellum insert detailing the doctor’s designs, and a stunning, full bleed, double gatefold image of the monster. Finished with printed endpapers and painted book block, this masterpiece volume is perfect for book lovers and art lovers alike. The suspense and horror of Dr. Frankenstein reanimating assembled body parts, the monster spying on an unknowing family, and the creature’s revenge on his maker take on whole new meaning when accompanied by Plunkert’s mystical, layered interpretations.” This extremely special collector’s item will be

Stephen King Proves He’s No ‘Outsider’ By Kicking Off 2018 With New Novel

2017 was a huge year for Stephen King and 2018 is already off to a great start. King will soon release his new book titled ‘The Outsider’. The cover art should be released soon. In the 576-word novel, “An unspeakable crime. A confounding investigation. At a time when the King brand has never been stronger, he has delivered one of his most unsettling and compulsively readable stories. An eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City’s most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad. As the investigation expands and horrifying answers begin to emerge, King’s propulsive story kicks

‘Gerald’s Game’ Director Wants To Adapt King’s ‘The Shining’ Sequel ‘Doctor Sleep’

Mike Flanagan, the director behind films such as Oculus, Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Gerald’s Game, has his eyes on a new project. The talented director told Lilja’s Library that he wants to tackle Stephen King’s ‘Doctor Sleep’ and ‘Lisey’s Story’. There are so many,” Flanagan answered, when the site questioned him about what other Stephen King stories he’d like to adapt. “But the ones I’d want to do the most are DOCTOR SLEEP and LISEY’S STORY. In both cases, it’s because I identify with the protagonists so much. LISEY’S STORY is a stunning piece of work, a beautiful exploration of marriage. And who wouldn’t want to venture back into the world of Danny Torrance?” King himself has expressed recent interest in doing an adaption of Lisey’s Story and Doctor Sleep that picks up years after the events in The Shining. ‘Doctor Sleep’ is set several years after the events in ‘The Shining’ and focuses on the now middle-aged

If discovered, this person may have no choice but to destroy RB-323… and everyone on board. The Real ‘The Ghost And The Darkness’

In 1996 moviegoers’ evolutionary ancestral fear of humans being prey to an apex predator was put on display in the film ‘The Ghost and the Darkness’, a historical action horror film that starred Val Kilmer as Lt. Colonel John Henry Patterson. Kilmer’s character goes to Tsavo, Kenya to help a railroad company with a “Wild Life” problem where workers are being attacked by two Lions. After arriving and encountering the Lions himself, he soon discovers that these Lions are not normal and are bloodthirsty and go on a kill/eating spree. Towards the end of the film, Kilmer’s character gets ’s help from Michael Douglas’s character, Charles Remington, a professional large game hunter, and the two discover that the lions are killing for sport. Fast forward to the end, Kilmer solves the problem and the railway is complete. As it was mentioned at the end of the film, the Lions of Tsavo can be seen today at the Field Museum in

Players Take On The Hoard In ‘World War Z’

Gamers and fans of the film and book ‘World War Z’ will be able to take their love of the story a step further and actually be in the middle of the body-piling chaos along with friends in the upcoming 4 player Co-Op video game by Saber Interactive. The overall story is unknown but takes players to recognizable locations from the film as well as some locations that were not in the film. Players can make traps, upgrade weapons, build barriers, and use their surroundings to keep back and survive the (debatable) undead hoard. My prediction is the game will resemble that of ‘Left 4 Dead’ and ‘Killing Floor’ both game series focus on teamwork and reaching objectives while surviving an onslaught of zombies. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, you can check out the reveal trailer below and check out the website here!

William Seabrook: Zombies, Cannibalism, Tormented Mind

While researching for a previous article, I came across an interesting fellow named William Seabrook. Seabrook’s occupation was as a Writer and Reporter but the rest of his credentials are Occultist, Explorer, Traveler, Cannibal, and Journalist. I understand if like me after reading that, you heard a record scratch and are currently looking back to make sure you read that right. Yes, casually tucked in among his other titles is Cannibal. What makes that more ironic or fascinating is that Seabrook is credited as one of the first authors to introduce zombies to western culture, not the kind we know today but the actual zombies of Haitian origins steeped deep in Voodoo lore. I know, I know, “Get to the part where he’s a Cannibal!” alright But first some background. Seabrook was a traveler and explorer who made a name for himself by writing articles for magazines like Cosmopolitan, Reader’s Digest, and Vanity Fair that detailed his adventures to parts
