Watch The 23 Minute “Castle Rock” Documentary

Later this month take a trip to Stephen King’s “Castle Rock” with Hulu’s new series from J.J. Abrams and King. Today, we have a 23-minute documentary to share with you about the series starring André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy, and Scott Glenn. The 10-episode “psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock is an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.” Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason developed the series for television and serve as executive producers along with J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson, and Liz Glotzer. The series is from Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The first three episodes of “Castle Rock” will premiere on Hulu on Wednesday, July 25th.

Writer, producer, director, creator and all-around maverick, Larry Cohen, acclaimed master of horror Mick Garris, King Cohen director Steve Mitchell and celebrated screenwriter participate in a Q&A tonight July 23 at Laemmle NoHo 7! In New ‘King Cohen’ Clip We See Larry Cohen Talk ‘Q’

Larry Cohen, that’s a name every horror fan should recognize. Cohen is behind films such as It’s Alive, It Lives Again, Q, The Stuff, Maniac Cop, Body Snatchers, Uncle Sam, and so many more. Steve Mitchell‘s documentary King Cohen, about the life and works of Larry Cohen, is approaching its release and we’ve gotten our hands on the first clip from the film. We sat down with Mr. Mitchell recently for an interview and discussed both King Cohen and his classic genre film Chopping Mall. Movie Review: To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story (2017)

Kane Hodder is Jason Voorhees…I mean he isn’t actually the masked maniac, Jason is a fictional character (in case any of you are complete idiots) but, he was definitely the actor that made the role his own, and gave the Friday the 13th film series’ icon a real personality (not an easy task considering Hodder’s face is never seen on film without heavy prosthetic make-up, nor does he utter a single line of dialog in his four on screen stints as the character) comprised of distinct movements. ‘Monster Squad’ Doc ‘Wolfman’s Got Nards’ Releases Trailer

When The Monster Squad, directed by Fred Dekker and co-written by Shane Black, debuted in theaters back in 1987 it was far from a hit, but since has become one of the most loved horror classics out there. Now, a documentary titled Wolfman’s Got Nards is on its way from director Andre Gower who starred as Sean in the classic. The documentary explores the power of a cult classic “told through the lens of the 1987 classic and the impact it has on fans, cast, crew, and the industry”. Chopping Mall writer Steve Mitchell and I sat down for an interview. Not only did we discuss his classic horror films, we also talked about his new documentary King Cohen which examines the life and work of prolific filmmaker Larry Cohen. Cohen has a tremendous amount of work to his credit, including the classic horror film The Stuff, It’s Alive, Phone Booth, Uncle Sam, Body Snatchers, and Maniac Cop. Movie Review: Wolfman’s Got Nards (2018)

Since this is a review of a documentary about the cult classic fright flick The Monster Squad that features testimonials of fans’ first experiences with the film, I’ll share mine! I vividly remember when The Monster Squad was coming out in cinemas. I was beyond excited to see a film teaming up classic creatures battling some resourceful kids…the thrills, the spills, the…the…fucking nothin’. That film never made it’s way to the Podunk cinema in my bucolic lil’ town, and there was no way in hell my parents were driving thirty minutes to the next closest theater to check it out. So I saw it when one of my friends taped it off from HBO. I really liked it. The end. Thankfully the stories in Wolfman’s Got Nards are much more entertaining and engaging than that ultra-shit yarn I spun above…though the end result is the same.
