Fantasia Film Festival Announces First Round Of Films

The Fantasia International Film Festival is approaching its 22nd annual film festival in Montreal and the first round of films and events have been announced. FIFF will run from July 12, 2018, to August 1st, with its Frontières International Co-Production Market and Industry Rendez-Vous Weekend being held July 19th to the 22nd. The most anticipated Japanese film of 2018 will have its International Premiere at Fantasia 2018 and completely blow everyone’s minds! ‘Terrified’ Is Making Waves At Film Festivals

Making its way around film festival circuits is an Argentinean film that’s making a big impact, Aterrados (Terrified). The movie overall, is a mix of a cop drama and horror. Aterrados (Terrified) is about a cop who’s heading towards retirement and he’s also known for having a big interest in paranormal investigating and because of his interest, he’s called in to investigate a series of strange deaths. The deaths are occurring in houses doors down from one another. The cop meets a well known paranormal investigator who’s handling a missing person case in the same area. The pair, along with other paranormal investigators, team up as they soon learn that the cases are all linked.

We’ve been waiting for a while to hear more about Oscar-nominated director Luca Guadagnino ‘s new version of Dario Argento’s Suspiria. VR Company Hidden Content Launches With Premiere Of ‘The Caretaker’ At Tribeca

Filmmakers Jacob Wasserman, Adam Donald, and Ant Gentile have announced the formation of Hidden Content, a full-service virtual reality company. Their first project was unveiled earlier this week at the Tribeca Film Festival with the world premiere of their narrative 360 Cinema project The Caretaker, the first installment of an original horror anthology series. Created by Wasserman and Donald as well as filmmaker Nicolas Pesce (The Eyes Of My Mother, Piercing), The Caretaker stars Adelaide Clemens, Tom Lipinski, Clara Wong, and Diana Agostini. The project was produced by Max Born and Schuyler Weiss and executive produced by Gentile and Kimberly Parker. The pilot was a co-production with RealMotion Inc. and audio services were provided by Hobo Audio. Hidden Content has also teamed with film producer and financier Max Born to produce and acquire a slate of VR films and series, as well as develop a VR/AR distribution platform. APS Films has announced the next screening of Zack Wilcox’s Hunting Lands at the 19th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival that runs from April 30, 2018, to May 3rd.
