The most important part of Tatble Top RPGs that help bring the world to life for the players is not just the terrain, an awesome set of dice, or a super creative imagination… it’s the miniatures who take on the soul of the players. Miniatures are the lifeblood of TTRPGs as players assemble, paint, and come up with the backstory for each tiny character they work with. Some miniatures are strictly used for certain game series but many players have chosen to be chaotic and bring different miniatures into their worlds, and one group of miniatures is perfect to bring a bit of dark chaos into your tabletop world. Meet CounterSpell Miniatures from 1985 Games the same awesome folks who made the VHS Dice Sets! These miniatures are from the world of Shadewood, a dark forest world where wonders and horror await adventurers. I’ll admit right now, I’ve never worked with Miniatures before, so the results how the final products

A homebody is a person who stays home and does not venture out much, but what if you are forced to not be a homebody and go hang out with friends, at a strange house, with a killer on the loose? Well, then you have Rogue and Game Grumps’ horror-puzzle game Homebody. I want to thank Rogue and Game Grumps for allowing me to check out the game. Homebody follows Emily, a young woman with severe agoraphobia who is going to a rented house to hang out with her old friends who she has not seen in over a year. While at the house strange events take place where a masked killer attacks Emily and her friends and every time Emily dies, she loops back to after she arrives at the house. Now onto the game itself! Homebody‘s controls are pretty simple and limited making it easy to get going with the story which seems to drop you right into

1985 was a good year… well I say it was because that’s my birth year. But to those who are fans of the 80s, that was the height of that decade people look back fondly on, and to those in the know, it was DnD and VHS tapes. The folks over at 1985 Games have found a way to combine the two in the most unique way to bring a smile to your face, their VHS Dice sets. I want to give a major thank you to Lenny and the other awesome adventurers over at 1985 Games for reaching out and making this review possible! To start off, the packaging really hit hard for me as it brought back fond memories of digging through the mountains of VHS tapes to find the one that had Big Trouble in Little China on it, yeah that’s right I was 4-6 years old and watched that movie nearly to death, so sue me.

Two jobs that sound stressful and never should be combined a 911 operator and radio DJ. That’s what happens in Team 17’s first-person black comedy Killer Frequency! In Killer Frequency, players take on the role of Forest Nash, a late-night radio DJ who was given the task of also acting as a 911 operator after all the phones in the town that the station is in can’t make outside calls as the local serial killer long thought dead has returned, and Forest and his producer have to help callers from becoming the killer’s next victims. Now onto the game itself! Killer Frequency‘s controls are a bit over-complicated on console controls as it’s quickly apparent that this game is more meant for VR gameplay as you need to use too many buttons in certain sequences to do things, not fun for a game where at certain moments you have to be quick. Since the game’s story is mainly told through sound,

Continuing on this journey of experiencing the magic of tabletop gaming, you’ll need variety when it comes to your gaming style and the story you want to tell about your character. DND Dice has a decent size collection of a variety of dice to suit your playing style and character needs, and they were awesome enough to send me a pack of dice just in time to get into the summer slasher groove so a big thank you for that! Let me introduce you to the Blood Splatter Dice Set! I was given the 10-die set that has the standard RPG dice but includes a D-30, D-60, and the eye-catching D-100. As the name implies, and that you can see, the die are white with blood splatter on it, safe to assume if Jason Voorhees played DnD these would be his dice for sure. This dice set would be perfect for the cruelest of DMs who enjoy snuffing out adventurers

Out of all the character-rich world of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings that are deserving of a game, the last individual you would expect would be the former Hobbit turned ghoul, Smeagol, or as he’s known by his more nefarious nickname/personality, Gollum, who is reviled in the books but was sort of a fan favorite in the Peter Jackson films thanks in part to the talent of Andy Serkis who voiced, and motion captured the character. Anyone who’s seen the movies is familiar with Gollum’s part in the stories of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films, but not about what happened to him between the events of the two film series. Daedalic Entertainment has filled in the gaps with their stealth game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum follows, well who else… Gollum, and Smeagol, for those not familiar, the title character has split personality after being consumed by the power of
