Game Review: ‘Fury Unleashed’

Awesome Games Studio where indeed awesome and gave me the opportunity to give their 2D platforming, shooter Fury Unleashed a try! Taking place in a comic book world, you take on the role of Fury, a soldier that runs and guns through the world around them as they learn more about the origin of their world as well as themselves. The game is quite nostalgic in its gameplay mechanics as you have to jump up and down platforms as you shoot at enemies, anyone who grew up in the 80’s and early 90’s know these types of games. The controls are not very complicated and given some short work you can get used to them fairly quickly. The graphics are quite fitting for this game and flow cleanly making the 2D art pleasant to see. You really are transferred into a comic book-like world with how everything looks together. Each map of the game is set up like a page

Mike Flanagan Adapting Stephen King’s ‘Revival’

The past few years, Stephen King adaptations have filled theaters and streaming services (not that we’re complaining). News has now come via THR that director Mike Flanagan, who adapted King’s sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep, as well as Gerald’s Game, is now adapting King’s 2014 novel Revival. Flanagan will be writing, producing, and possibly directing the Warner Bros. film with Doctor Sleep‘s Trevor Macy also signed on to produce. The novel centers on the relationship between a heroin-addicted musician and a dubious faith healer with a hidden agenda. The minister is obsessed with trying to find a way to communicate with his departed wife and child but ends up reaching a Lovecraftian horror. Back in 2016, it was announced that an adaptation of Revival was being written by Josh Boone while he was working on his adaptation of The Stand, but the film never materialized. We’ll keep you posted.

Watch The Trailer For The Drug-Fueled Indie Horror ‘Habitual’

We’ve got the new trailer for writer-director Johnny Hickey’s (Oxy Morons) new drug-fueled indie horror film, Habitual. In the film starring Chris ‘CT’ Tamburello (MTV’s The Challenge) and Thomas Walton (Room 9) after sniffing drugs and going to a rave being held at an abandoned asylum, a group of young adults is stalked by a relentless, malevolent presence, and their grasp on reality is torn limb from limb. A few years back, Boston-bred filmmaker Johnny Hickey brought the OxyContin epidemic to America’s attention with Oxy Morons. Based on his life, trials, and near-death experiences in the nascent throes of the opioid crisis, the film was a gut-wrenching wakeup call to anybody who at that point hadn’t come to understand the dangers of prescription painkillers. For his second feature film, Habitual, which is planned for release this coming fall, Hickey kept the theme in his macabre wheelhouse but also dove much deeper into horror territory in order to capture the nightmare
