We Need To Talk About Michael Part II

Happy Halloween Halloween 2018 arrived. I wrote a previous post almost a year before its release pondering what kind of movie it would be and most of all…was it even needed? How would the franchise hold up forty years later and what does it really say about horror when new ideas seem scarce and studios constantly return to the well? Cynema is not a review site. There are plenty of them online. I look at the effects of cynicism on the industry as a whole, often expanding past the horror realm. What did I think of it? Here’s my concise review: There were some great moments that add up to a good movie. There. A number of people online instantly came out bashing the film, calling it “bad.” I think we have lost the real understanding of what a “bad” movie truly is. I often remind people that there is a huge difference between “So bad it’s good” and just

“Light As A Feather” Actress Amaris Davidson Talks ‘Killer Kate!’ And More

Amaris Davidson, former NBA dancer turned actress, sat down with me to talk about her roles in films like Insidious 3, as Sarah in the soon to be released film Killer Kate! and her character Coach Fazholtz on the new supernatural series “Light As A Feather” which has just arrived on Hulu. Horror Fuel: “What was it like on the set of Insidious 3?” Amaris Davidson: “Oh, man. It was in a dilapidated hospital. It was a real hospital that they had turned into a movie set, exclusively for horror movies. Walking through the hall to get to where we were filming was interesting itself. It would give you a weird feeling. I don’t care for hospitals already, so it was really creepy. I play a nurse in Insidious 3, an ER nurse. There was a lot of blood in the prosthetics which were really beautifully done. They fire off the smoke machine and all you see is smoke coming

Bill Moseley Reveals A Curse In New ‘American Exorcist’ Trailer

Gravitas Ventures have just released an all-new trailer for American Exorcist, the Christmas Eve set horror film starring and produced by genre icon Bill Moseley. “Christmas always seems to bring bad luck to the American Building. After a century of tragic accidents and unexplainable deaths, the infamous skyscraper is reportedly haunted. Georgette Dubois (Falon Joslyn) is a professional skeptic hired by Management (Bill Moseley) to debunk those urban legends. She’s a scientist, meticulously searching for something to believe in. Her every encounter with the supernatural appears to have a rational explanation. None of that experience as a paranormal investigator prepared her to be trapped high above the city with genuinely ghoulish horrors. Instead, Georgette must reconnect with her spiritual roots if she hopes to survive.” American Exorcist was shot on location in Philadelphia at the historic Inquirer Headquarters. The now abandoned high rise doubles as the equally old and decrepit American Building; a haunted office complex burdened by 100 years
