After an opening explaining the evil machinations of a surviving race of Druids known as Sangroids to resurrect their queen via blood draining shenanigans (all provided by a voice over that sounds like an unholy union between James Mason and Dr. Frank N. Furter) we learn just where this evil rite is to take place…no, not at Stonehenge or some other ancient place of pagan worship…nope this thing is going down in the cradle of ultimate demonic terror…Westchester County, New York (shivers). Who can stand in the Druids way as they kidnap the townsfolk and harvest their blood? Well hopefully Don (Bruce Detrick), his girlfriend Jenny (Tanna Hunter), and her father, Dr. Roy Anderson (Norman Kelley) ‘cuz that’s all we got. We’re doomed. Man Invasion of the Blood Farmers has it all. You like overly dramatic stock music that plays as characters merely talk or change their clothes? Linda (Jacki Kerin) inherits a retirement home called Montclare from her mother…now that is one hell of a thing to inherit…I mean what young woman wouldn’t want to own a mega-creepy house jam-packed with weird ass old people, and dreadful secrets (more on that in a tick)? I know for a fact that is exactly the number one wish of women ages 18 to 24…that and like Pogs or some shit… Anyway, Linda reads her mother’s diaries which detail some off-the-wall shit, like the fact someone was watching her and her tenants were dying under some fishy circumstances. Guess what? Like mother like daughter because L-dawg starts to see someone on her ass, and those geriatric jokers in her care begin dropping off…and before long, she is in a fight to keep both her sanity and well-being intact! Filled with breathtaking shot composition, a janky, off-kilter aesthetic, pitch perfect slow-burn pace, stunning location, and genuinely creepy moments, Next of Kin

I fucking hate reviews like this…Night of the Living Dead is regarded by multitudes as the one of, if not the, greatest fright flicks ever made; and I am definitely one of those folks! You’ve most likely seen the film, read countless reviews and studies of it, and loved it for years, so what can your’s cruelly add to the mix? Well…umm…I swear a lot… In case you’ve never seen Night of the Living Dead, as improbable as that is, here’s a sinister synopsis for your arcane asses: Barbara (Judith O’Dea) and her brother Johnny (Russell Streiner) head out to visit their father’s grave. Once there they are attacked by a zombie (Bill Hinzman in a role forever enshrined as a horror icon). John-John buys the farm and Babs gets her flee on and finds herself at an abandoned farmhouse where she is joined by the heroric Ben (Duane Jones). as time passes the duo discover other refugees inhabiting the

In a universe where fantasy characters and humans co-exist, people obsessed with the crazy creatures around them attend AA (Abnormal Attraction) meetings, lead by Dr. Stanley Cole (Bruce Davison) to work through their “feelings”. As the internet has demonstrated time after terrible time, people can get their horny on over the weirdest things…and the world of ol’ AA is no exception as we get tales of frisky folks enamored with a leprechaun, a zombie, the tooth fairy, bigfoot and many, many more (shudder)… Thankfully most of the jokes in Abnormal Attraction are gloriously offensive and hit their mark (and they damn well better seeing as how this is a comedy and all), but to write this off as just some dopey comedy (which it certainly is) with nothing going on between it’s ears would do this picture a disservice. You see, along with all of the nutty nonsense we get a rather poignant look at a world we should try

Joey (modern scream queen Jamie Bernadette, who co-wrote and produced the feature as well) and her gaggle of gal pals get together for a lil’ soiree; but things go to shit when Tyler (David Villada) arrives with his drugs…a skull mask, a demonic pizza boy, and bloodshed ensue…as is always the way isn’t my creeps? Memories of the night are sketchy, but are they really so sketchy that you’d get together with these ladies again a few years later in a secluded location (the bog standard cabin in the woods) and party hardy once more…or at least try to move on with their lives? This being a fright flick, we all know damn well the answer is a resounding “Yes”. We may also predict that things are going to go south quicker than a truck stop hooker…but that isn’t entirely the case (more on that below), but eventually the friends begin to see ol’ skull faced Tyler (or is it?)

Small time hood John (Anton Tennet) is having a shit run of luck; his (crime) boss Shelton (Jonny Brugh) treats him like turd, and he has to vacate the garage he lives in…and mostly everyone he encounters thinks he’s a bit of a nutless wonder. Aiming to prove them wrong, John and his dim pal Gaz (Arlo Gibson) set out to swipe a bundle o’ cash from a gang of Chinese hoods muscling into Shelton’s territory from the antique shop they use as a drop off. Tommy Wiseau is going to be making his horror debut both as director and actor in Big Shark. Wiseau teased the film last night on his twitter with a picture of a poster for the film as well as a link to the teaser trailer. The teaser trailer was actually shown in front of an audience attending a London screening of Wiseau’s well-known film, The Room, a film that’s famous for being so bad it’s good. Wiseau will be accompanied by Greg Sestero and Isaiah LaBorde. Sestero is no stranger working with Wiseau as he played Mark in The Room, where the iconic “Oh hai Mark” scene is from. Sestero later went on to write a book about making the film that was later adapted to screen under the same title The Disaster Artist where James Franco played Wiseau.

Dennis Skinner (Ted Raimi) wades into town (like literally through water…ever hear of a sidewalk chum?) and takes a room in the house of Kerry and Geoff Tate (Ricki Lake and David Warshofsky respectively). Well, Geoff treats Kerry like a shit sandwich and she soon develops a crush on ol’ Skinner…even though he’s weird as balls…and lives up to his name by skinning women and wearing their hides like a Ben Cooper Halloween number, ya dig? Meanwhile, a beautiful and scarred woman named Heidi (Traci Lords) blows into town with a murderous ambition towards Skinner, and an ass-load of drugs as well. How will this sinister scenario play out, and who’ll be left alive and intact at the end of it? Skinner is one hell of a fucked up fright flick! The entire film has an off putting and overly strange vibe (aided by a near comic book style utilization of color and an odd water motif) that is hard
