Mike Flanagan Teams Up Again With The Newton Brothers For ‘Doctor Sleep’

Filming has wrapped on director Mike Flanagan‘s Stephen King adaptation Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining. Flanagan has teamed up again with the Newton Brothers (interview) to compose the film’s score. The Newton Brothers, whose real names are Taylor Stewart and Andy Gush, and Flanagan have worked together twice before, first on the King adaptation Gerald’s Game and then again on Netflix’s haunting series “The Haunting of Hill House.” The Shining is such an impressive piece of work in all forms, and Doctor Sleep picks up from that in such a brilliant way. Stephen King is incomparable,” the Newton Brothers said. “Working with Mike is an incredible honor every time. The material he works with, the stories he tells and adapts, the talent, the crew, the producers … everyone involved brings their A-game every time and it inspires us to create the absolute best score for the film that we possibly can. It’s humbling to be on this team.”

DVD Review: Heavy Trip (2018)

Before I jump into this here review for Heavy Trip, let me state that this is definitely NOT a horror film, rather it is a comedy about black metal, but since metal and horror intersect beautifully…and…and fuck it; I do whatever the shit I want… Turo (Johannes Holopainen), and his friends Pasi (Max Ovaska), Lotvonen (Samuli Jaskio), and Jynkyy (Antti Heikkinen) have been practicing their metal chops in a basement for the better part of 12 years, but Turo’s near paralyzing shyness have kept them from recording original material or performing even a single gig. considered a joke by damn near the entire town, our heroes soon get a chance to play a large metal festival in Norway, and the town begins to change their tune and worship the boys as local legends. Sounds great right? Well, while the promoter of said festival digs their sound (after hearing their demo post-reindeer blood shower…trust me, it makes sense when you see

Don Mancini Gives Details About Upcoming Child’s Play Series

Back in June, Child’s Play creator Don Mancini, who also wrote and directed most of the franchise, teased the upcoming TV series based on the film featuring Chucky. Mancini recently appeared on the podcast Post Mortem With Mick Garris and revealed a few of the series’ details. Just from having worked on Hannibal and Channel Zero… I saw an opportunity to reinvent the franchise yet again,” Mancini told Garris, whose own directing credits include Psycho IV and the upcoming horror anthology Nightmare Cinema. “One of the things that has kept the franchise alive and thriving for so long is that we’ve reinvented it in different ways, by making it a comedy, and then back to horror. But the sheer storytelling real estate of doing eight to 10 episodes… will allow us to delve into characters and relationships in a way that we’re never afforded in just a 90-minute movie. That’s really exciting to me. We’re going to be able to

Johannes Roberts Set To Direct ‘Resident Evil’ Reboot

Constantin Films has found a director for their Resident Evil franchise reboot and it happens to be one of our favorite directors, Johannes Roberts. Roberts will also be co-writing the movie, Variety reports. Roberts has a killer record when it comes to horror and thrillers. He’s the director that brought us 47 Meters Down, and The Strangers: Prey at Night, and the underrated film The Other Side of the Door. Based on the video game, Resident Evil follows Alice (Milla Jovovich) as she battles her way through hordes of zombies terrorizing Raccoon City after an Umbrella Corp. experiment goes terribly wrong unleashing the undead plague. Co-writer Greg Russo promised fans just a week ago that the movie will return to the game’s horror roots. Obviously, I’m a huge fan of the franchise so to work on that was a lot of fun,” said Russo. “For me it was very clear-cut that I wanted to go back and make it scary
