Werewolf Flick ‘Bonehill Road’ Bares Its Fangs On Digital This Week

Legendary underground filmmaker Todd Sheets (Grindsploitation) is making his return to independent horror in a big way, with the werewolf film Bonehill Road, which promises to be a howlin’ good time (review). In the film, a mother and daughter escaping an abusive relationship run into something even more sinister on Bonehill Road. Bonehill Road will pay homage to classic werewolf films like The Howling and An American Werewolf in London. It will have an 80’s feel and don’t worry, this film will not be one of those PG-13 flicks. It is a horror film for real horror fans and brings back those blood-thirsty beasts we love. Blu-ray Review: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)

Dr. Miles J. Bennell (Kevin McCarthy) returns to his bucolic town after attending a medical convention to find the citizenry changed in subtle ways, such as a lack of genuine emotion and the fact that some folks claim their relatives are not whom they appear to be. Soon Miles gets caught up in the craziness after he is called on to investigate a body…a body with a face that remains unfinished and possesses no fingerprints. Things then go completely off the rails, as our hero discovers that plant-born changelings are taking he place of the townsfolk and he’s in for the fight of his life to stop their other-worldly machinations! Full of fantastic performances (with McCarthy being a spirited and game lead that goes from jovial to completely panic-stricken with equal aplomb, as well as notable appearances from Carolyn Jones, Dana Wynter, Larry Gates, and King Donovan…not to mention a cameo by Sam Peckinpah), a palpable sense of dread and

Ninja Theory Creates “Senua’s Scholarship” After Their Video Game Heroine

It’s no big secret; I love “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice”, the dark fantasy video game by Ninja Theory struck a chord with many players as it deals with the sensitive subject of mental health, uniquely through the eyes of a young woman back in early human history during the time of Celts and Vikings. In order to make the symptoms of Senua’s psychosis authentic, Ninja Theory consulted with Mental Health experts as well as individuals who actually are going through treatment for the illness. Because of this delicate attention to detail, “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” to date has won 19 awards! Proceeds of the sale of the game went towards charities involving mental health but now Ninja Theory has taken it a step further, by creating a scholarship that will fund training for mental health tutors at the CPFT Recovery College East who played a big role in helping with research for the game, the scholarship is appropriately named “Senua’s Scholarship”.
