Bee Ready, Horror-Comedy ‘Buzz Cut’ Slashes Its Way Onto Digital This December

Back in March, we shared the first trailer for the upcoming Kiwi horror-comedy Buzz Cut, now we can report that the slasher throwback is headed your way this December. There’s no shortage of pretty girls, nudity, bloodshed, and a crazed killer in the film, part Animal House, part 80s slasher. In Buzz Cut, the Hash House Harriers (“a drinking club with a running problem”) encounter a killer Bee Keeper. The film stars Phoenix Cross, Donna Wilkes, Benjamin Hudson, Zoë Helen Boyle, Ashton Brown, and horror icon Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons). Martin Renner, Donna Wilkes produce with Michael Kraetzer, Nicolás Onetti, and Dale Rees serving as associate producers. Buzz Cut slashes its way onto VOD and Digital on December 13, 2022, from Black Mandala.

Sisters Search For Answers In The Post-Apocalyptic Thriller ‘Shadows’ (Trailer)

Red Water Entertainment has just announced the North American VOD debut of Carlo Lavagna‘s Shadows, the Irish-Italian psychological thriller that marks the second feature from director Carlo Lavagna. The film, written by Fabio Mollo, Damiano Bruè, Vanessa Pucciarelli, and Tiziana Triana, stars Mia Threapleton, Lola Petticrew, and Saskia Reeves. The film centers on Alma and Alex, two teenage sisters, who are survivors of a catastrophic event. They live deep in the woods with their Mother, a strict, overprotective woman who has sheltered them from ominous presences, the Shadows, which live in the daylight and infest the world beyond the river. Movie Reviews: CONTORTED and GUIMOON: THE LIGHTLESS DOOR (London Korean Film Festival)

Contorted Writer/director Kang Dong Hun’s Contorted (South Korea, 2022) looks great and is well acted but its screenplay is weighed down with horror movie cliches. The film opens intriguingly with preteen girl HeeWoo (Kim BoMin) seeing a paranormal occurrence while at a funeral parlor with her father HyunMin (Kim MinJae). Meanwhile at their home, HeeWoo’s mother MyungHye (Seo YoungHee) contemplates suicide by jumping off of the balcony of their apartment. Her very young daughter JiWoo (Noh HaYeon) prevents her from doing so, but then a horrible act takes place. MyungHye suffers from mental health issues while HyunMin, unemployed and unsuccessful in finding new work because of a plagiarism scandal, takes a passive stance while trying to keep appearances as normal as possible. After watching the intense thriller Girl at the Window, I had chat with its director Mark Hartley, who is known for his work in documentaries, such as Electric Boogaloo. In Girl at the Window, Amy (Ella Newton) and her mother (Radha Mitchell) move to a new home. Amy sees weird activity – her neighbor comes and goes at strange hours and she hears screams. Is her new neighbor and her mother’s new love interest the serial killer that’s killing her classmates? Kelli: “I watched your new movie, Girl at the Window. I really enjoyed it. Mark: “Well, I’m glad to hear that.” Kelli: “There’s not a ton of gore but when there is it’s impressive. I loved the eyeball thing. It looked great.” Mark: “Originally that scene was going to be shot with a piece of paper with a slit in it, but the makeup guy showed up with this elaborate mechanism he had built for it. Ghosting Gloria Ghost movie, supernatural fantasy, romantic comedy, sex comedy, literary comedy — charming Uruguayan feature Ghosting Gloria (Muerto con Gloria, 2021) is all of this and more. Codirected by husband-and-wife filmmaking team Marcela Matta and Mauro Sarse from a screenplay written by Mauro, the film finds thirty-year-old bookseller Gloria (Stefania Tortorella) choosing to move apartments because her upstairs neighbors are so noisy with their middle-of-the-night sexcapades, complete with bawdy talk. Her new home is inhabited by the ghost of the man who suddenly died there recently, and having passed away has done nothing to lessen his libido. The first encounter between Gloria and the ghost is certain to make many viewers uneasy, but Gloria becomes enchanted by the spirit, who gives Gloria her first orgasm — with many to follow. Society 1 Members Announce Shock Rock Doc Ahead Of New Tour

Award-winning director Matt “The Lord” Zane and co-director Dagon Destroyer have begun working on a new documentary exploring the shock rock genre. This will be Zane’s follow-up to 2022’s documentary “The Altered Noise” which was about his former bandmate DV Karloff. In the new film, Dagon and Zane will be interviewing various artists as well as discussing their own contributions to the genre that they became heavily involved with when Zane began body suspension during the band performances in 2002.
