Michael Dougherty’s latest film, Krampus, opened this weekend in theaters. Dougherty can now turn his attention back to completing his script for the sequel to his 2007 Halloween-themed anthology hit Trick ‘r Treat. Dougherty had already begun working on the sequel before he took time off from the script to work on Krampus. News broke that he had plans for the film two years ago, but after a long period of silence fans began questioning if Trick ‘r Treat 2 would ever make it to theaters. Dougherty recently stated that the film already has an outline and that he has every intention of seeing the film completed, which is great news for fans. There is no release date set, but we hope to see Sam sooner, rather than later. Dougherty had this to say about the sequel: “I’m just really against filling in too much information about your horror icons. I always find that they get less scary the more

Fear the Walking Dead has just begun filming for its second season. The first season, filmed in Vancouver, ended with the group on the beach, with the hint that they may seek refuge from the zombie apocalypse at sea. When news broke (via IGN) that the second season is being filmed in Baja Mexico it seemed to confirm the second season will have a nautical theme. The filming location is famous for its use in movies involving ocean scenes, including in films such as Titanic. “We are thrilled to be shooting in Mexico,” David Erickson, showrunner of FTWD stated. “Baja Studios has been home to some of the greatest ocean-set films in recent years and provides all the creative resources we need to begin this new chapter in the “Fear” saga. We couldn’t be happier.” Fear the Walking Dead will return in the Spring with fifteen-episodes and according to show creator Robert Kirkman the second season will have plenty “zombie

Before I go into how much I love The Green Inferno, let me start by saying the first 20 – 30 minutes wasn’t great, mainly because our main character Justine (Lorenza Izzo) has an atrocious roommate Kaycee (Sky Ferreira), whose 1990’s grunge, forced, hipster dialogue was one of the most horrific things in this film. I realize that the films director, Eli Roth, was going for with this, but it is either some of the worst acting I have ever seen or the best, Ferreira deserves an Oscar! I have seen this film 3 times and still can not decide what side of the fence I am on. Now that the worst part of the film is out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff! I personally believe this is Roth’s best film! Shooting 4k (digital) along with the films soundtrack really helps bring the jungle to life and ultimately the fear that our characters feel. The opening

On last week’s episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, Pablo (Pay Santiago) almost got lucky with Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), who happened to be possessed at the time. Then Pablo’s luck went from bad to worse when his uncle was killed by the demon Eligos (played by Ben Fransham). Luckily, Ash (Bruce Campbell) was able to take the demon out before it killed anyone else. Oh, and Ash got a new kick-ass hand, courtesy of Pablo. This week Ash, Pablo and Kelly are heading to the place where it all began 30 years ago, the cabin. One thing stands in their way, Fisher and Ruby have caught up with them. Things are also a little awkward between Pablo and Kelly, after all, she did try to screw him, then she tried to kill him.

With Christmas rapidly approaching and Krampus opening in theaters this weekend, the anti-Santa is everywhere, including Austria’s yearly Krampus parade. At the “Krampuuslauf Graz” parade, known as “The scariest parade on Earth”, hundreds of people dressed in their scariest Krampus themed costumes join to celebrate the legend and scare who they can. The centuries old legend of Krampus has Germanic roots. The beast is St. Nicholas’ other, darker half. His job is to punish naughty children. Krampus, half-demon, half-goat, literally beats the naughty out of bad kids with birch sticks, before dragging them into the underworld. In Norse mythology, Krampus is the spawn of Hel and arrives in town on December 6th. I don’t know about you, but after seeing these terrifying characters, I swear, I’ll be good next year. I would hate to get on Krampus’ list.

Series creator, Sean S. Cunningham recently discussed his new project, the Friday the 13th series coming to the CW, with FANGORIA. A lot of horror fans have doubts about the new show and its choice of networks, but Cunningham seems confident that the series will do great. “We went with CW because they are probaly the most successful genre distributor in the world because not only strong in the U.S., but around the world with their other titles, in particular Arrow and The Flash. They know that market and they know their audience. They’re very smart and very psyched about doing the project.” The series will focus on a detective and his quest to find his missing brother, some how tied to Jason Voorhees.
