Spoiler Free Movie Review: 'The Menu' Is A Tasty Terror-Filled Treat

Spoiler Free Movie Review: ‘The Menu’ Is A Tasty Terror-Filled Treat

Director Mark Mylod has a tasty horror-filled treat for audiences, The Menu, which features an all-star cast including Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes, Hong Chau, Nicholas Hoult, and Judith Light. The film is set in the world of high-end culinary culture; a group of foodies visits an exclusive destination restaurant on a remote island where the acclaimed chef has prepared a lavish tasting menu, along with some shocking surprises. I went into watching this film not knowing precisely what to expect. I assumed it would be a pretentios film with a little horror thrown in. Well, you know what hey say about assuming. I will be the first to admit when I’m wrong and that’s the case with this film. What I got was an elegant film that combines psychological terror, brutality, and elevated horror that left me craving a good cheeseburger. Anya Taylor-Joy gives a fantastic performance, as does Ralph Fiennes, and the interactions between the two make for a

Grab You Valentine And Binge New Horror On Shudder This February

Movie Review: ‘Skinamarink’ Isn’t For Everyone

After making 67x its $15,000 budget in its first week in theaters and receiving an expanded release, Skinamarink has become a viral sensation. I sat down to watch it, not knowing exactly what I was getting myself into, only knowing that it was being described as an “experimental horror.” The movie’s synopsis goes like this: “Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished. To cope with the strange situation, the two bring pillows and blankets to the living room and settle into a quiet slumber party. They play well-worn videotapes of cartoons to fill the house’s silence and distract from the frightening and inexplicable situation. All the while in the hopes that, eventually, some grown-ups will come to rescue them. However, it becomes clear that something is watching over them after a while.” The movie plays out with strange shots of

The Zombies In HBO's "Last Of Us" Are Based On Something Real!

The Zombies In HBO’s “Last Of Us” Are Based On Something Real!

Odds are, by now, you’ve seen the first couple of episodes of the “Last of Us” adaptation, and let’s be honest, it’s fantastic! “The series is set twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.” Right off to bat, you are probably wondering about the show’s gnarly zombies. The zombie infection is not a virus that morphed like we’ve seen in movies and series a thousand times. Instead, we get these crazy fungi-face creatures created by a fungus, Cordyceps, to be exact. Now here’s the terrifying part: Cordyceps are a very real thing. In reality, Cordyceps, a parasitic fungus, infects its hosts, usually small insects, turning them into real-life zombies by controlling their host’s actions,
