For one couple, turning off their phones may be one of the worse ideas ever in Save Yourselves! Written and directed by Alex H. Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, Save Yourselves! follows Jack (John Reynolds) and Su (Sunita Mani), a hip Brooklyn couple who, like many of their friends, find themselves dependent on technology and unable to put down their phones. Fearing their mindless scrolling may impact their connection with each other, they seize the chance to head to an isolated cabin in the woods, vowing to unplug from the outside world for a week. As strange events unfold, the couple must figure out a way back to civilization—or what’s left of it. Movie Review: Shortcut (2020)

Headed to theaters this September is the survival horror Shortcut from director Alessio Liguori. Ahead of its debut, I snagged a copy to review. Here are my thoughts. Written by Daniele Cosci, Shortcut follows a group of five teens and their bus driver as they travel down an empty road. When they come to a spot blocked by a downed tree they must take a shortcut, only to find that road blocked as well by a dead deer. When the bus driver (Terence Anderson) gets out to drag it off the road so that they continue their journey, he is ambushed by a psycho and held at gunpoint, and forced to keep driving. You would think that things were bad enough, but you’d be wrong. There’s something out there, something hungry, that is ready to pounce when the bus breaks down in a tunnel. Let me start off by saying that I was very impressed by the young cast that

Will We Ever See ‘Candyman’? Universal Delays Sequel Yet Again!

You can call his name five times, but Candyman won’t be making an appearance anytime soon. News has come that Nia DaCosta‘s Candyman has been pulled from release. Originally set to open in theaters in June and then moved to next month, Candyman will now arrive sometime next year thanks to the damn Coronavirus! The movie starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (US, Aquaman), Tony Todd (Candyman), Teyonah Parris, Colman Domingo, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett is produced by horror heavy hitter Jordan Peel who co-wrote the script along with Win Rosenfield. Candyman returns to the neighborhood where the legend began, where Cabrini-Green housing projects once stood. We all know not to say the legend’s name five times, but the characters in the movie say it anyway and bring down Candyman’s wrath upon themselves. We’ll keep you posted. Hopefully, a new release date will be announced soon.

Watch The Haunting Trailer For ‘The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw’

Writer-director Thomas Robert Lee takes viewers on a dark journey filled with religious paranoia, horror, and revenge in The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw whose new haunting trailer has arrived, teasing an intense, dark tale set against the autumnal palette of the harvest season in 1973. The film explores the disturbing bond between Audrey, an enigmatic young woman, and Agatha, her domineering ‘mother’, who live secretly as occultists on the outskirts of a remote Protestant village. As the community is besieged by a pestilence of unknown origin: children, fields, and livestock begin to die — yet the Earnshaw farm remains strangely unaffected. As mass hysteria sets in the village, the townsfolk commence accusations against Audrey and Agatha of witchcraft. Catherine Walker, Jared Abrahamson, Hannah Emily Anderson, Geraldine O’Rawe, Don McKellar, and Sean McGinley star in The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw, featuring Jessica Reynolds as Audrey Earnshaw. I wanted to tell a story about legacy, and to specifically explore it within the
