Shudder‘s new social media horror-thriller Influencer from writer-director Kurtis David Harder (Harpoon, Superhost, V/H/S 94), premieres this week on the streaming service for horror and thrillers. In the film, “Madison (Emily Tennant, “Riverdale”) is a popular social media influencer who is having a lonely and uneventful trip in Thailand despite what she tells her followers on Instagram. While reflecting on her boyfriend canceling the trip, she meets CW (Cassandra Naud, “See”), a fearless and enigmatic traveler who offers to take her to some of the most Instagram-worthy locations. Together they share authentic meals and drinks with locals, discussing the differences between Madison’s online presence and CW’s lack of one. Every year, a massive number of series premiere, with 270 premiering just last year alone on TV and streaming services, so it would be easy to miss a few. We’re here to fill you in on some horror series you might have missed that you really should check out. Keep an eye out for Part II. Grimm (2011-2017) A homicide detective discovers he is a descendant of hunters who fight supernatural forces. While some of the special effects are no longer state-of-the-art (it was released in 2011), the series will have you going through a gambit of emotions. It features great characters and a story that will leave you on the edge of your seat through all six seasons. The mystery of Netflix’s obsession with killing off series just when they are getting good continues to baffle me. But it is what it is, I guess. The latest series on Netflix’s chopping block is the action-packed, paranormal series “Lockwood & Co.” after just one season, which is sad because it’s entertaining, emotional, creepy, and intense. In the series, “Teenage ghost hunters scour the streets of London, engaging in deadly combat with the spirits of the night.
