Can The Walking Dead: Dead City Save The Franchise?

The Walking Dead universe has been in decline for several years, as viewing figures suggest. The main series peaked in season five when it had a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 90 percent, and then took a downward turn in seasons seven and eight when it picked up scores of 66 and 65 percent, respectively. Despite The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead gradually shedding viewers over the years, AMC has decided to double down on its zombie franchise with three brand-new spinoffs. Earlier this year, HBO’s “The Last of Us,” the popular video game series adaptation, was a massive hit, with over 8.2 million people tuning in for the finale. The series, which stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, is set twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. Amazing Horror Series You Might Have Missed (Part II)

Penny Dreadful (2014-2016) I can’t express how disappointed I was when the series that explores classic monsters came to an end. Incredibly well-written with outstanding performances. In fact, I’d be willing to say that “Penny Dreadful” is one of the best horror series ever to be released. If you watch one series from the list, make it this one. Upcoming Paramount+ Series “The Burning Girls” Conjures First Look

Paramount+ is gearing up to deliver chills and thrills with their upcoming new six-episode series, “The Burning Girls,” inspired by the novel by CJ Tudor. Today, we have the first images. Fantastic Beasts‘ excellent actress Samantha Morton and “Bridgerton” star Ruby Stokes will lead the cast, playing the role of a mother and daughter looking for a fresh start. The cast includes Aaron-Jon North, Lorelei Winterfrost, David Dawson, Rupert Graves, and John Macmillan. “The Burning Girls” centers on Jack, a reverend (Samantha Norton), and a single parent to her teenage daughter Flo. Jack still carries the trauma of her husband’s death. ‘Bird Box Barcelona’ Trailer Expands The World Of The Netflix Hit

Back in 2018, the Netflix Original Bird Box was a smash hit. Now the streaming giant is expanding on the story with a new Spanish spin-off, Bird Box Barcelona, whose trailer has now arrived. Set in “post-apocalyptic Spain, Sebastián and Anna must hide their eyes from daylight to avoid the powerful entity that, when looked at with the naked eye, makes people k–l themselves. When the pair joins a group of blindfolded strangers, they’re warned of an imminent threat that further jeopardizes their safety.” The upcoming film is directed by David Pastor and Alex Pastor, who co-wrote the film with Bird Box writer Josh Malerman. Bird Box Bercilona is from the producers of Bird Box. The cast includes Georgina Campbell, Mario Casas, Diego Calva, Michelle Jenner, Leonardo Sbaraglia, and Lola Dueñas. Bird Box Barcelona will debut on Netflix on July 14, 2023.

AppleTV+’s New Thriller Series “Hijack” Takes Flight This June

Apple TV+ today unveiled the trailer for “Hijack,” the upcoming, high-octane thriller starring and executive produced by SAG Award-winner and Emmy Award-nominee Idris Elba (“Luther”). Created by George Kay (“Lupin,” “Criminal”) and Jim Field Smith (“Criminal,” “Truth Seekers”), who also wrote and lead directed the series, respectively, the seven-part series also stars Emmy Award and NAACP Image Award-winner Archie Panjabi (“The Good Wife,” “Snowpiercer,” “Blindspot”).
