The Conjuring 3 now possesses a writer. David Leslie Johnson has signed on to write the screenplay for the next film of the ever growing franchise that has just announced its latest spin-off, a movie about the “Crooked Man” featured in The Conjuring 2, which he wrote. He was also behind the disturbing thriller Orphan.
The buzz is James Wan, who directed the first film and the second which he co-wrote along with Carey and Chad Hayes, won’t be directing the third installment. This go-around Wan will produce through his company Atomic Monster along with Peter Safran.
While the plot has not been revealed we do know that it will continue to document Ed and Lorraine’s investigations. There is a theory circulating that The Conjuring 3 will feature a werewolf, but we will just have to wait until the official plot is released to know for sure.
As it stands, The Conjuring 3 will be the seventh film of the franchise which includes Annabelle and the upcoming spin-offs Annabelle: Creation, The Nun and The Crooked Man. The question is, will there be a spin-off from this film as well?
