Godzilla is coming and so are the casting announcements for Trick ‘r Treat director Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of Monsters, the sequel to 2014’s reboot. Get Out’s Bradley Whitford has now joined the cast that already includes Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, and Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown. In the film Whitford will play the role of Dr. Stanton.
Ken Watanabe, Aisha Hinds, Kyle Chandler, Charles Dance, Sally Hawkins, Randy Havens, Thomas Middleditch, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. will co-star in the film written by Dougherty and Zach Shields.
A few hints have been given about the film, including that Godzilla will be getting a new design and may be joined by Mothra, Rodan and Ghidroah.
Godzilla: King of Monsters will arrive in theaters on March 22, 2019 followed by Godzilla vs. Kong on May 22, 2020 also directed by Adam Wingard.
