Just one day after Stephen King’s 69th birthday word has come that the remake of ‘IT‘ has officially wrapped filming. Producer Barbara Muschietti announced the news via Instagram. The photo she posted was that of a weathered Jack-In-The-Box and the following message: “And yes, it’s a wrap on #itthemovie. Thank you amazing cast and crew for this magical journey. And thank you #stephenking for giving us this tale.”
“In a small town in Maine, seven children known as The Losers’ Club come face to face with life problems, bullies, and a monster that takes the shape of a clown named Pennywise.”
Andy Muschietti (Mama) directed the remake of King’s 1990 miniseries, which stars Javier Botet, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Hamilton, Jaeden Lieberher, Owen Teague, Steven Williams, Sophia Lillis, Megan Charpentier, Wyatt Oleff, and Jeremy Ray Taylor. ‘Hemlock Grove’ actor Bill Skarsgard stars as the frightening entity Pennywise, originally played by Tim Curry.
The screenplay for the remake was penned by Gary Dauberman. Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, and Barbara Muschietti produced. Jon Silk and Marty P. Ewing serve as executive producers for ‘IT’.
You have to admit, Skarsgard makes one disturbing clown. ‘IT’ will arrive in theaters nationwide on September 8, 2017. We should see the first teaser trailer released soon. We’ll keep you posted.
