Director Adam Wingard’s new highly anticipated horror film, The Woods, is set to premiere at the San Diego Comic Con later this month, EW has reported.
The film, written by Simon Barrett, follows a group of college students on a camping trip who discover they are not alone. Starring Valorie Curry, Callie Hernandez, Brandon Scott, James Allen McCune, Wes Robinson and Corbin Reid, The Woods will open in theaters on September 16, following it’s debut at the San Diego Comic Con on Friday, July 22.
Wingard and writer Simon Barrette have worked together before. Wingard directed and Barrett wrote V/H/S and V/H/S 2, as well as the hit home invasion thriller You’re Next. In other words, they make one hell of a team.
Several horror heavy hitters are producing, including Roy Lee (The Ring, The Strangers), Jessica Wu (You’re Next, The Guest), Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) and Keith Calder (You’re Next, The Guest).
