You’ve seen the first images for IT. You’ve heard our speculation on Pennywise’s new look. You’ve seen what Pennywise OFFICIALLY looks like. But are you ready for some new shots?! Alright I’ll quit the dramatics, new shots [via Northumberland News] from the set of IT’s Derry, Maine have been released and they look pretty damn real!
Filming is currently under way on the first half of a two part remake of 90’s genre classic IT. Filming will take place in Port Hope, Ontario, which in the film you’ll come to know it as Derry, Maine.
The remake is being helmed by Mama dir. Andy Muschietti and will star Bill Skarsgård as the iconic evil clown Pennywise. Additionally joining the cast as members of The Loser Club’ are Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween ), Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy ), Chosen Jacobs (Cops and Robbers) and Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ant-Man). As lead bully Owen Teague has been cast as Patrick Hocksetter. Additionally creature performer Javier Botet has signed on for an undisclosed role.
The original film followed the story of a group of outcast kids whom formed The Loser’s Club’, a club for people like them, outcast. As the demonic creature Pennywise The Clown is nearly defeated by the club, the now adult club members are met by the return of Pennywise, but without any knowledge to defeat him for good they must band together.
The Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Barbera Muschietti produced remake will hit theaters September 18th, 2017.
