One of the most highly-anticipated television series announced this year is TNT and  M. Night Shyamalan’s revival of Tales from the Crypt series. We reported back in March that due to issues with the rights, The Crypt Keeper will be replaced by a new creepy host and in April we told you that the new revival would be part of a horror block on TNT curated by Shyamalan. We’ve all been waiting to find out when Tales from the Crypt and the other series in the block would premiere. Today, we have an update.

TNT President Kevin Reilly spoke with the Television Critics Association this past weekend, according to Slash Film. Reilly provide some details about the new block and when Tales from the Crypt Keeper series will kick-off.

Tales will be on towards the end of ’17, in the forth quarter.” Reilly stated.

TNT officially gave the order for the 10-episode Tales from the Crypt series, along with the go-ahead for Time of Death and Creatures. The block will also feature short films.

I’m really thrilled about the way this horror block is coming together with the addition of Time of Death and Creatures. Shyamalan said recently. “That such a beloved property like Tales from the Crypt is launching our evening makes it an even more unique and exciting opportunity. Across the board, the level of talent has been very inspiring.

Time of Death is an anthology series that takes viewers through a single night of terror. The first season will follow a psychopath who has returned to his Midwestern hometown during the annual county fair to exact revenge on the community he blames for ruining his life. The series is said to pay tribute to the slashers of the ’80s. Guy Busick penned the pilot.

Creatures is a psychological thriller that features the story of two childhood friends that, at 12 years old, attempted to cut out their classmate’s heart to sacrifice to an internet bogeyman known as Mr. Gorgi. Fifteen years later the two young women are released from the psychiatric institution in their small Alaskan town. It’s not long before they begin to feel Mr. Gorgi’s presence again. The script for Creatures is being penned by Dominic Mitchell (In the Flesh) with Tom Shakland directing (House of Cards).

Now, the big questions are, who will be cast for the three series and what will the new Crypt Keeper look like? Hopefully we will be able to answer those questions soon.
